Design experts love the 'calming' effect Rumer Willis has crafted in her home, and it is surprisingly easy to achieve
The nostalgic wallpaper choice in the nursery room of Rumer Willis's home is praised for its calming quality
A glimpse inside the home of actress and singer Rumer Willis reveals a bold choice of wallpaper ideas that champions a nostalgic and whimsical feel in the home.
The actress, who has starred in a range of films including Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, shared a series of images of her daughter's nursery room in her home, in partnership with children's furniture brand Crate and Kids, who collaboratively designed the space.

The nursery commits to a soft orange and beige color palette throughout and has an overall traditional feel with nods to vintage-inspired design. Plenty of soft and cozy fabrics feature, such as the oversized bouclé chair which looks endlessly comfy.
A collective look is achieved with gallery wall ideas comprising photos and artwork, as well as layered and contrasting bedding quilts that promote a homely and lived-in feel.
'I just wanted lots of color and whimsy and magic, like what my mom instilled in us in our own childhood home,' Willis tells Crate and Kids.
Whilst the design of the room serves plenty of nursery room ideas, we take a closer look at the bold choice of wallpaper, which taps into this year's key wallpaper trends.
Featuring vertical stripes in a warm amber shade, the wallpaper further establishes the nostalgic and cozy feel of the space. We spoke to the interior design experts to get their take on the wallpaper style.

Designer Cory Alisa Ferris explains: 'One may think stripes on walls as a bold move, but the vertical tangerine bands in Rumer’s little girl's nursery are unexpectedly calming. The two orange tones against the white backdrop emulate a bit of an ombré effect, and the imperfection of the lines also softens the pattern.'

She has worked in prestigious San Francisco Bay Area design firms and worked as part of the Pottery Barn product design team. When it became clear to her that she was most passionate about interior and home design, she founded Cory Alisa Fine Arts & Interior Design.
It's clear that not only is the wallpaper style praised for its aesthetic appeal, but experts agree on its calming qualities, too.
'The use of stripes gives the effect of more height in the room, making the space feel larger. Also, the light colors give off an airy feeling that helps keep the energy relaxed and inviting,' explains interior designer Ricky Allen.
