Tom Brady's Raw Kitchen Cabinets Celebrate Natural Beauty – The Anti-Trend Kitchen Aesthetic Dominating 2026
Paired with elegant white marble, design experts say this unpainted, organic look will remain beautiful 'in the next century'
What happens when an NFL legend merges with an icon of the design industry? We get Tom Brady's wooden kitchen – featuring natural, unpainted cabinets that experts are calling the most timeless aesthetic of all.
Brady, who paired his wooden kitchen cabinets with a white marble backsplash and countertops (a material that is equally adored for its agelessness), has designed a space that, Homes & Gardens' editor Jennifer Ebert says, will look just as beautiful 'in the next century.'
This organic style is perfect for welcoming the bright, warm energy of the season, allowing natural light to flood the room. With this in mind, it perhaps seems unfair to label wooden cabinets as a 'kitchen trend' (as this label may imply its appeal is only fleeting); however, it's hard to argue that 2026 is the year our kitchens firmly return to the natural world.
Al Bruce, the founder of Olive & Barr, notes that wood kitchens have experienced a major resurgence in recent years, with the use of natural materials becoming increasingly celebrated and sought after in interior design.
As we head into the sunnier, warmer months of 2026, this 'trend' has never felt quite so prominent, bringing an outdoor freshness into the heart of the home.

Tom’s kitchen strikes the right balance by keeping everyday essentials on display in a way that feels warm rather than cluttered. Glass storage jars like this one add a lived-in, functional touch to a countertop while still looking beautifully considered.
The stack of cookbooks on display makes it clear that Tom takes cooking seriously, and they also add a warm, personal feel to the kitchen. If you’re looking for a reliable recipe collection that looks just as good on a shelf as it does open on the counter, this Ottolenghi duo is a brilliant choice.
This striking ceramic vase brings an effortless sense of elegance to a kitchen or dining space. Finished in a soft ivory tone, it works beautifully on a countertop, island, or open shelf, adding just the right amount of sculptural interest without overwhelming the space.
Tom’s shelves lean into simple, understated pieces that give the kitchen its calm, minimalist feel. This papier-mâché-style vase captures that same effortless aesthetic, adding soft texture and sculptural interest without being overpowering.
A solid maple cutting board is one of those kitchen pieces that looks just as good left out on display as it does in use. This design is a must for any countertop, and it works beautifully styled with pots of fresh herbs, oils, or everyday kitchen essentials.
'Investing in a wood kitchen offers timeless appeal and remarkable versatility, seamlessly fitting into both contemporary and traditional homes.' Bruce notes. And Tom Brady is in good company. We've also recently seen the likes of Zendaya, Jennifer Aniston, and Matthew and Camila McConaughey experiment with raw wooden cabinets in their homes – and every time, designers say the same thing: their look is designed to last.
In Brady's space, he has chosen solid wooden doors and marble countertops; however, doing the opposite (using wooden countertops with other materials on the cabinets) is just as powerful for creating a light, breezy aesthetic.

'To add balance to an all-wood design, consider incorporating reeded glass-fronted kitchen cabinets; this not only provides a break in a run of solid fronted doors but reflects light and adds a modern touch to a traditional design,' Bruce says. 'White quartz countertops add further contrast, highlighting the natural beauty of the oak.'
Alternatively, we can take the wood to our kitchen island – for the ultimate focal point that captures the warmth of late spring. 'If you prefer adding touches of wood to your design rather than the full cabinetry, consider incorporating ash wood into a specific part of the kitchen, such as the island. Pair with cabinetry in a neutral tone to highlight the natural grain of the wood, allowing it to take center stage.'
