Winnie Harlow's Los Angeles kitchen is a relaxed and modern space – featuring this standout lighting
This standout lighting feature oozes sophistication
The home of Winnie Harlow is one we admire for its contemporary take on decor. Designed by celebrity interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, the Los Angeles home is a timeless and modern space that is filled with rich materials and statement furniture.
Capturing the essence of the home's core modern design is the kitchen, which features a standout lighting feature, which was designed by contemporary furniture and lighting brand Gabriel Scott and is a part of the Harlow collection.

In the post's caption, Bullard refers to the design process of the space, explaining that he thinks of kitchens as 'more of a modern living space than a utilitarian space', whilst ensuring that a 'jewel-like moment with lighting' is created.
The end result certainly shows Bullard's design intent and it looks like a practical and comfortable room that echos the personality of Harlow, much like her Hollywood-inspired bedroom.
The main design features of the kitchen remain fairly simple, with the black-and-white kitchen color scheme evident throughout the space, including the cabinetry, island unit, and wooden ceiling.
Whilst this could end up looking stark, this highly contrasting color palette works perfectly against the pops of bright yellow accessories, most notably the fresh flowers and kitchen accessories on the countertops which are more playful with shape and subtle print, such as the striped vase.
Perhaps the most dramatic part of the kitchen, however, is the kitchen island lighting, which acts as a statement and creates a feeling of grandeur and glamour. The geometric style and large proportions give the feeling of an art piece, drawing the eye to its timeless design.

Jenifer Ebert, Homes & Gardens deputy editor weighs in: 'While this kitchen is elegantly modern and understated by design, the addition of the standout brass light fixture creates impact in the space and gives the room a feeling of timeless luxury. It acts as a focal point and nods to the sophistication of Art Deco.'
