I thought I was over the splatterware trend, but I am seeing it everywhere again this summer – and these new pieces have persuaded me it's worth a revisit
From vases to plates to fruit bowls, splatterware is everywhere again this summer, and these are the new-in pieces that have caught my eye

Splatterware was everywhere last year. Of course, it's not a new print, it's been around for centuries, but it made such a strong comeback last year that I rarely saw a kitchen shelf or outdoor dining table that didn't feature this abstract print. And it's back again for 2025, and this time I have been convinced it's the perfect print to bring into my kitchen to add a subtle hit of pattern.
I think I am more drawn to this revived pattern trend this summer because I am seeing more options, new colorways, and more exciting pieces; it's not just blue splattered bowls and plates. Anthropologie's most recent Splatterware launch features lilac and red takes on the look, and Shea McGee has brought Sharland England's lovely pink and terracotta offerings over to our side of the pond.
So I've made it my mission to find the chicest splatterware buys to fill my kitchen with this playful print that never seems to really go away. Whether you love bright, busy colors or more neutral, pared-back designs, these are the 9 buys I'm most excited about.
9 splatterware kitchen buys I'm obsessed with right now
If you're not familiar with splatterware, it looks just as you're probably imagining. It's intentionally a bit messy, made to look as though an artist has quite literally splattered paint all over the ceramics.
And while this abstract design is nothing new – it has roots in the 1700s, and in the 1800s, it was produced in England for sale in the States – its resurgence this year is perhaps unsurprising. It's fun, characterful, and adds that personality to kitchens that we've all been craving.
So, whether you want a statement vase as the centerpiece of your kitchen island, a new tableware set for your outdoor dining room, or unexpected accessories to make everyday essentials a little more exciting, this is your sign to embrace the splatter print as it's clearly a timeless summer decor idea.
I'm really loving this white and brown color combination in my kitchen right now, and this pie dish proves why it's such a classic. I'm not much of a pie maker, but I love the idea of using this dish as a small fruit bowl. Imagine it filled with apples, lemons, and even avocados – it's a simple way to elevate the mundane.
The splatter print has made its way outside of dinnerware and into decor pieces. I love this Sharland England vase – it's the perfect shape and size for displaying seasonal arrangements on a kitchen island or breakfast bar. Plus, the terracotta and white palette offers a nod to classic colors in a more playful way.
This serving bowl proves splatterware can be neutral, too, with its black and white design that still feels somewhat minimal. I love the versatility of this bowl – perfect for dinner parties at the center of the table, or as a fruit bowl if you can't get behind my reimagined pie dish idea!
An easy way to make your kitchen countertops look more expensive is to elevate the decor you display on them. Hand and dish soap in ugly packaging never look aesthetic, so swapping them for the splatter glaze dispensers is an impactful choice. They come with a matching tray to sit on, too, elevating the look further.
As much as I like to keep my kitchen clutter-free, I am guilty of dumping items on my countertops, usually jewelry or keys. So, a little dish to store them in is a must, and this shell-shaped ceramic dish is such a pretty option. It comes in two color pairings, but I love this pink and blue design, especially for my more neutral kitchen.
Is matcha your latest obsession? These matcha green splatter mugs might just be my favorite way to refresh a coffee station – imagine how cute they will look hung below a shelf on display. If matcha green isn't quite your style, there are four other color options to choose from, including red and pink.
I've spent a lot of time scrolling through splatterware, and Anthropologie has some of the best options. As someone who eats pasta at least three times per week, a dedicated bowl is an essential. This pink and white design is so fun, and is a great way to bring some color into a kitchen.
If you prefer the reliability of blue and white, that's often associated with splatterware, this set of two plates from IKEA is a stylish choice. They have a whole range in this splatter design, but I think the plates are a great choice for everyday use, and if you have a plate rack, they double as a playful decorative element. Style and function in one!
There are plenty of subtle ways to bring the splatter print into your kitchen. This spoon rest is a perfect example – it's a small addition to your cooking space that feels a bit more interesting than a plain design. With its wavy edge and green splatter finish, it's an ideal piece to dip your toe into the splatter waters.
Have I convinced you to embrace splatterware this summer too? This print is an easy way to elevate your interiors with ceramics in an unexpected way, bringing personality and interest to your kitchen scheme. Whether you introduce a small, subtle decor piece or swap your full dinnerware set with a colorful design, this is your sign to embrace the splatter print revival.
