H&M Home's new collection is inspired by the grandeur of high-end hotels

For me, the allure of high-end hotels has always been about more than grand design – it’s the subtle details that linger. Fragrance, in particular, can define a stay long after checkout, making it one of the most powerful elements of the hotel experience. So when I discovered H&M’s new hotel-inspired collection, the Dark Honey-scented candle immediately rose to the top of my wishlist.

As someone who loves curating the best candles to bring that same hotel-level atmosphere into my own home, this collection feels like it was created with me in mind. The Dark Honey candle stands out instantly with its luxurious glass vessel, finished in a beautiful swirled effect that feels far more elevated than its price tag suggests. Layered with rich notes of plum, tobacco blossom, and herbal davana, it promises to be one of the best fall candles of the season – and perhaps the closest thing to recreating that five-star ambience at home.

It might be dainty, but the Dark Honey candle boasts a burn time of 10 hours (and the largest size, which is priced at just $34.99, will last for up to 30 hours). Additionally, I'd be more than happy to reuse the stunning glass votive as a trinket dish or jewelry holder once the wax has melted out.

While the smallest candle in the collection is available in three different scents, the larger options offer even more variety. If you opt for the medium size, for example, you can choose between four fragrances (including an Ember Vanilla scent and a Grapefruit Nectar candle in a striking green holder). The biggest, three-wick candle boasts five scent options, including Salted Sea and a sultry Papyrus Oud.

'When fall arrives, I struggle to find candles that create an uplifting ambiance – without the overbearing presence of pumpkin spice,' says Charlotte Olby, our Style and Trends Editor. 'However, H&M's papyrus oud candle manages to blend my favorite sweet orange with a rich, woody undertone that feels like the perfect way to transition my home for the new season. Plus, I'm a sucker for anything tortoiseshell, and the glass votive is so chic, I'll be repurposing it to store cotton pads on my vanity afterward.'

Each of the candles in H&M's new collection was developed in partnership with French perfume house Robertet, and the collection itself is designed to emulate the opulence of five-star hotels (think crisp bedding, pleated cushions, and sleek accessories). If you're on the lookout for the best home fragrance, this Dark Honey-scented candle could be a brilliant alternative to some of the more high-end brands, creating that luxurious feel without the steeper price tag.
