A true workhorse and some of the best cast iron cookware that, when cared for properly, will last a lifetime, literally, and then some.

This particular Lodge classic cast iron skillet comes pre-seasoned, meaning it’s already coated in a thin layer of oil that you just need to top up after every use to create a low-stick surface that improves over time.
Cast iron retains heat like nothing else, making it a great searing partner if you’re looking to master steak. I also use mine to whip up a reliable batch of fluffy pancakes every weekend; they release so easily, without a ton of mess to clean off afterwards. A cast-iron Lodge pan also transitions seamlessly to the oven, and the size and weight feel just right for everyday use.
Finally, you’re getting all of this at a fraction of the cost of other cast iron brands. While premium options like the Field Company cast iron skillet can cost over $100 more, this pan delivers solid performance without breaking the bank.
