This is officially Benjamin Moore's best-selling paint color
This former Color of the Year endures – and it’s not slowing down this 2022
You may already know Benjamin Moore's Aegean Teal as their Color of the Year in 2021. However, it has just stolen an even more impressive title. This fresh blue-green shade is officially their best-selling paint color – beating many popular shades to the top spot.
The New Jersey-based manufacturers have disclosed their five best-selling shades with H&G – and the results are clear: green, gray, and blue lives on.
Joining Aegean Teal at the peak color trends are Hale Navy, a highly saturated shade of navy blue, and Edgecomb Gray – a timeless gray with contemporary overtones. Another gray hue, Revere Pewter, took fourth place, and Pale Oak, a subtle neutral inspired by a white oak tree, came fifth.
However, one tone, in particular, shows no signs of falling out of fashion – and that's Aegean Teal. Here's everything you need to know about this eternal paint trend.
Aegean Teal – Benjamin Moore's best-selling paint color
Following a turbulent 2020, Benjamin Moore announced Aegean Teal was their Color of the Year in 2021, and it's easy to see how they came to that decision.
The comforting tone combines two of the most popular shades (blue and green) to promote reflection and rest. The paint powerhouse chose the color for its earthy quality that will enrich and enhance your decorating ideas – and blur the line between warm and cool shades.
'Aegean Teal 2136-40 expresses a welcoming, lived-in quality that celebrates the connections and real moments that take place within the home,' says Andrea Magno, Benjamin Moore Director of Color.

Benjamin Moore adds that the shade is an intriguing mid-tone that 'creates natural harmony' – and that's something we continue to crave one year later.
Alongside its earthy qualities, this color works alongside other colors that are dominating paint ideas, from minimalist whites to the ever-popular gray. '[The color] is a balanced and soothing hue, softened with a touch of grey to create spaces with a casual elegance,' adds Benjamin Moore's UK Director, Helen Shaw.
Will the power of Aegean Teal ever waver? We predict not. If you haven't already invested in Benjamin Moore's best-seller, it's a safe (but nonetheless stylish) choice that your home needs at the next available opportunity.
