The IKEA holiday collection just dropped – here's the best decor you can buy right now
The IKEA holiday collection brings a chic Swedish style to Christmas decor
Fall might be in full force, but some retailers are already looking ahead to winter. IKEA is getting into the spirit of the season a little early with the release of their holiday decor, which includes everything you need to deck the halls with Christmas cheer.
As a shopping and interiors writer, I've been busy scouring the internet for the latest trends. While it still feels a little premature, lots of other retailers have already released their holiday collections, and it can pay off to get in ahead of the rush in early December.
Similar to its home decor collection, IKEA brings a chic Swedish style to Christmas decor with minimalistic designs and calming color palettes. From ornaments to artificial Christmas trees to festive figurines, IKEA is one of the best places to buy cheap holiday decor without sacrificing quality and elegance.
Best Christmas Decor From IKEA's 2024 Holiday Collection
‘Tis the season to find the best holiday home decor, including Christmas trees, stockings, ornaments, and more. After scouring through nearly 300 IKEA holiday decor items, I’ve narrowed down the best holiday pieces to elevate your home decor this season.
Count down holiday festivities with this adorable IKEA advent calendar. The reusable advent calendar doubles as a chic and festive wall hanging. It features 24 numbered ornaments trailing along a spruce garland with loops for attaching mini presents, gift bags, ornaments, and candy..
Light up your tablescape with this adorable LED Decorative Table Lamp from IKEA’s STRÅLA collection. The lamp is shaped like a tiered Christmas tree and features small, star-like hole punches throughout the lamp’s metal structure to create a whimsical glow. It would look incredible on a holiday tablescape as well as an entry table or as an addition to a holiday village.
Wreaths are classic holiday decor but they can be surprisingly expensive. This little light-up lamp is cute way to get the effect without breaking the bank. It would look amazing a window – a sweet little touch to welcome guests as they come to the door.
This black stocking is perfect for Christmas morning. It's a much more inventive color choice than the usual boring reds and greens. The embroidery leans into IKEA's Swedish roots for a more traditional Christmas aesthetic.
If you're tablescaping on a budget, this string light is your new best friend. It utterly elevates an evening meal with very little effort on your part. Just trail it along a runner for a gorgeous golden glow. It would look incredible on a mantel or banister, too.
It’s the best time of year to gather with loved ones over a warm and cozy meal. IKEA’s holiday collection features several gorgeous serving pieces, including this chic bowl. Perfect for a delicious side dish or a collection of candies, the VINTERFINT Bowl is made from a durable ceramic material with a vintage-inspired design. If you love the look of this bowl, IKEA also offers matching mugs, plates, and a pitcher in a similar style for a cozy tablescape setting.
The VINTERFINT Serving Bowl is another fun and festive way to elevate your holiday tablescape. I love how you can use it on its own as a bowl or place other dishes on top of it for a more layered effect. The serving bowl would also make for a cute plant stand (IKEA has tons of good real and faux plant options). And, to add a little greenery to your spread, there’s a matching vase, too.
Rattan is one of the biggest home decor trends of 2023. If you’re looking for a way to incorporate the stunning texture into your holiday decor, a rattan Christmas tree collar can do the trick. This one from IKEA is an amazing price and features a classic woven design to hide unsightly Christmas tree stands.
IKEA also has plenty of artificial greens to choose from, including Christmas trees and garland. I love the VINTERFINT Artificial Garland because it has a classic winter look thanks to its texture spruce sprigs. The garland measures just under 10 feet long, so it would work really well along the center of a table or on a fireplace mantel.
FAQs
Does IKEA Have Holiday Items?
Yes, IKEA has a collection of holiday items ranging from Christmas trees, garland, and ornaments to serving dishes, placemats, and vases. Similar to IKEA’s classic home decor style, the IKEA holiday collection usually boasts a minimalist feel with a chic Scandinavian winter style.
Does IKEA Sell Christmas Trees?
In the past, some IKEA stores have sold real Christmas trees. However, availability can vary depending on the store location and supply. In addition to real Christmas trees, IKEA also sells artificial Christmas trees online. You can choose from full-size options such as the VINTERFINT Artificial Christmas Tree 70 ¾, VINTERFINT LED Artificial Christmas Tree 63, or VINTERFINT Artificial Christmas Tree 82 ¾ or go for tabletop Christmas tree styles such as the VINTERFINT Artificial Potted Plant + LED Light Christmas Tree.
However, while I love these pieces, IKEA aren't the only ones launching their holiday decor early. They were beaten to the punch by Anthropologie holiday decor last week, and Joanna Gaines already dropped the Magnolia holiday collection. There's also lots of suprisingly great Prime Day Scandi style decor pieces on Amazon. Shopping for holiday decorations weeks before Halloween seems a little extreme, but collections will sell out all over the place after Thanksgiving, so it's smart to get your order in early.
