It’s perfect for small patios and spaces

I only have a little yard, but sitting on my patio furniture with comfortable, thick cushions is one of my life’s little pleasures. Those same cushions getting soaked in a sudden summer shower, however, and being out of action for days at a time, is not so enjoyable.

To keep my cushions ready to go whenever I am, I’m splurging on this multi-functional waterproof outdoor cushion storage bench from Amazon.

This outdoor storage idea for small yards is the perfect addition, and will keep my cushions dry when not in use, whilst doubling up as handy extra seating for guests, negating the need for me to commit to extra seats I won’t often need.

Why an outdoor cushion storage bench is a winner

I sifted through hundreds of listings across multiple retailers and settled on the one above for its versatility, reasonable price and high-quality materials.

Crucially, the box is lockable so if you want to stick anything else in there, instead of having to traipse to your dusty shed, or the garage, it’s right on hand. Plus, you won’t get said hand caught in the lid, as it has hydraulics for slow and safe opening and closing of the lid.

The roomy Amazon outdoor storage bench, which doubles up as comfy seating for guests, is the perfect solution for sudden summer showers. It’s made of high-density waterproof resin, is fade-resistant, and in an imitation rattan pattern (a popular outdoor decorating trend) to help it blend in with other backyard storage ideas, rather than sticking out like a sore thumb.

The cushion it comes with is waterproof, and the resin is crack- and rust-proof. More than 5000 shoppers have rated it, giving it an average of 4.4/5 stars.

Verified shopper Taryn T, says it's 'spacious, sleek and truly waterproof.' She explains further in her review, 'This deck box fits everything, from pool towels and floaties to gardening tools, and keeps it all dry during Oregon downpours.

'It was simple to assemble (took me under 30 minutes solo), and the lid has a smooth hydraulic lift that feels more premium than I expected at this price point. Bonus points: it doubles as extra seating on our patio. If you want functional outdoor storage that doesn’t look bulky, this is it.'

Similarly, this box will serve you well as a porch storage idea, in case you need to keep firewood, or other outdoor items handy, such as walking boots or dog leads, but out of reach of pests and opportunistic thieves.

It's the perfect fix for my predicament. I am disabled, with limited mobility and high pain, so I often don't leave the house for three weeks at a time. It can send me a little stir crazy, which is why my small patio setup is so vital for my well-being.

That's why I’ve had enough of my beautiful, thick outdoor cushions getting drenched and being out of action for days at a time till they dry off. I do have waterproof furniture covers available at Walmart, but often, if I’ve sat outside for a morning cup of joe or my lunch break, and expect I’ll be back out there within a few hours, I’ve left the covers off.

Enter: Sudden rain clouds to ruin my day and soak through my outdoor cushions, which can be cleaned, but let’s face it, who actually has the time?

A waterproof storage bin for my cushions is the perfect answer.
