Stave off suffocating summer heat with this transformational Shark fan – it's almost as good as taking air con outdoors when relaxing on the patio

No, it isn’t just a desk fan

It is hot. There is no denying it, summers are getting hotter year after year, and it is getting harder to stay comfortable without AC, especially outdoors.

However, Shark has changed the game with their FlexBreeze fan and InstaCool Mist attachment, on sale now at Walmart. Not only can it work cordless, but it's made for indoor and outdoor use, too.

It’s one of the best ways to keep your home cool this summer, whether you have AC or not.

Why we love the Shark FlexBreeze

In our Shark FlexBreeze review, our expert home tech editor Dan Fauzi hailed our best fan as ‘about as perfect as a fan can be.’

They explained, ‘The Flexbreeze is a seriously powerful fan, offering a satisfying, cooling flow of air that you can feel at least 60 ft. away with zero faults after weeks of testing. Importantly, it is super quiet, meaning you can sleep with the fan on at night.

‘The best bit is the flexibility,’ Dan continues. ‘As hinted at in the name, the FlexBreeze is fully portable. You can charge the fan to use it cordlessly, convert it from a standing fan to a desk fan in seconds, and you can use it both indoors and out, meaning you can quickly convert from cooling a room with fans to staying cool when hosting outside in summer.’

We are not the only ones who love it, either.

Verified Shark customer Tana shared in her review, ‘My husband and I are in our 70's and in poor health, this Texas heat could quite literally kill us without some kind of relief. We have one in the house and two outside, one on the front porch and one on the back patio. The misting feature is absolutely wonderful at making these Texas summers tolerable.’

While we did not get the chance to test the InstaCool Misting attachment ourselves, Shark promises that 'you can enjoy immediate, on-demand cooling mist,' with the fan 'easily connecting to your hose to rapidly reduce temperatures to feel up to 10 degrees cooler.'

While increasing humidity by misting might sound like the last thing you want to try in a hot summer, science backs the FlexBreeze up.

For example, one study found that '[A] misting system was capable of reducing the ambient air temperature by 2.4–4.9 °C and increasing the relative humidity by 17.1%–17.8%. Participants in the misting condition reported lower thermal sensation and higher thermal acceptability.' Overall, 'the misting system significantly improves human thermal comfort.'

So, what's not to love?
