Astrologers urge you to tidy according to your Zodiac for quick, easy mess-clearing – it will unlock the tidying power of your star sign, pros say
Expert-approved tricks for every star sign

If you're someone who regularly turns to the stars for guidance when making daily decisions in life, have you thought about using them to determine the right tidying style for you and your home?
In fact, say our astrology and cleaning pros, harnessing the energy of your Zodiac sign can make tidying both more intuitive and enjoyable.
Here, they share their tidying tips for every star sign, so whether you're an Aries, Capricorn, or Sagittarius, you can ace tidying your home with tweaks to suit you.
How to tidy according to your zodiac
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Allowing yourself to multitask can make tidying more enjoyable.
If you're a Gemini, focus on multitasking while tidying, says Athen Chimenti, astrologer and founder of Mastering The Zodiac.
'Listen to meditations or podcasts,' he says. 'Geminis love to be entertained, and often their mind can be in two places at once.
'Rather than forcing yourself to focus on one thing at a time, some background noise can actually help you stay on task when tidying.' Therefore, if you're a Gemini, body doubling can make tedious chores feel easy.
Karina Toner, cleaning expert and operations manager at Spekless, adds, 'Focus on variety – rotate through rooms to avoid boredom.'
You might also want to try task stacking, too.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
'Invite peace within' by upping your tidying skills
As cleaning expert Scott highlights, Cancers tend to be sensitive, and this should be reflected in the way they tidy, too.
'Start tidying in areas that have emotional significance,' recommends Scott. 'It may be more enjoyable when it has a sentimental angle to it.'
Astrologer Athen agrees with Scott, recommending, 'Invite peace within. A sensitive Cancer will always seek to create a safe space that feels protective for themselves and others. While tidying, you can also incorporate moderate reorganizing to maximize the flow of positive energy in your abode.'
This will also allow you to enjoy the benefits of a tidy home without having to tidy when you feel overwhelmed.
Leo (July 23-August 22)
Focus on obtaining instant, satisfying results.
If you're a Leo, 'Dance it out,' says astrologer Athen. 'Leos may have the energy to clean, but feel their talents are better spent outside of mundane chores. Turn up your favorite music and bust a move during your tidying routine.'
In particular, adds Karina, Leos love visible results, 'so focus on visible areas for quick gratification.'
For example, tidy up to reduce visual clutter in the living room, reduce visual clutter in the kitchen, or clear visual clutter in the bedroom. This will quickly help you enjoy the beauty and benefits of a tidy home.
Virgo (August 23-September 22)
Make a tidying to-do list and stick to it.
If you're a Virgo, make a checklist of tidying tasks to complete, and stick to it, says Athen.
'Organized Virgos like to have a plan in mind before they commit to anything, and that includes tidying,' he explains. 'Laying out what tasks need to be completed, and in what order, will help this steadfast sign stay calm during a tidy.'
Astrologer Julia agrees, adding, 'You thrive on systems and order. A list gives you direction and the small dopamine boosts you love.'
Just make sure you take steps to make your to-do list less overwhelming if you begin to feel negatively affected by your tidying checklist, as this will only hamper your progress, rather than help it.
Libra (September 23-October 22)
'Harmony-driven Libra prefers balanced spaces.'
As a sociable sign, to get Libras in the mood for tidying, Julia recommends, 'Host a dinner with friends for later that day. What better motivation than people coming over to tidy up your space?'
This is a great time to employ Marie Kondo's tips for tidying before hosting, particularly if you want (or need) to get your home guest ready in under one hour.
Cleaning expert Karina adds, 'Harmony-driven Libra prefers balanced spaces. Tidy with symmetry in mind – matching storage baskets or even shelf spacing can bring calm.' We recommend the gorgeous Tellara Seagrass Handmade 4-Piece Nesting Basket set available at Wayfair.
Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
Scorpios benefit from taking frequent breaks.
For this water sign, 'Deep cleaning is your jam,' says Karina. 'Go beyond surface tidying – empty drawers, clean crevices, and purge what no longer serves you.'
Tackling clutter coffins, where your mess is held in a hidden storage solution will bring immense satisfaction.
And, if you do need to complete more surface-level chores, astrologer Athen recommends taking frequent breaks to let your creativity out while you tidy, whether it's doodling or writing in a journal as you go.
Therefore, Scorpios are likely to benefit from using the Pomodoro tidying technique, working for 25 minutes before taking a 5 minute break. You can use your phone as a timer, or, if you prefer something more visual, the Rotating Pomodoro Timer available at Amazon is ideal.
Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)
Set rewards ahead of time to encourage motivation and banish procrastination.
Sagittariuses thrive on reward, so keep this in mind when you're tidying, recommends astrologer Julia.
'Set a reward for after, like a walk or a spontaneous activity,' she says. 'You need freedom and something to look forward to. Pair a mundane task with a future adventure!'
As astrologer Athen highlights, this will encourage positive motivation and banish chore procrastination, encouraging any Sagittarius to complete their tidying tasks before having fun.
Capricorn (December 22-January 19)
'Set goals instead of expectations.'
As cleaning expert Karina says, 'Capricorns are motivated by progress.' Therefore, she says, create a chore calendar and check off tasks for satisfaction. The Magnetic Chalkboard Monthly Calendar available at Amazon is great for this.
Alternatively, why not try the 'Wheel of Chores' method to mix up your tidying tasks, which is perfect for procrastinators. Just remember, 'Set goals instead of expectations,' adds cleaning expert Scott.
Aquarius (January 20-February 18)
Take advantage and tidy when the mood strikes, but don't force it if you don't feel like it.
If you're an Aquarius, 'Tidy only when the mood strikes,' recommends astrologer Athen. 'Aquarians like to do things their own way, on their own time. When the mood strikes to clean, take advantage of the wave of energy that occurs, and commit to getting it all done in one sitting, before the next mood strikes!'
Additionally, why not try a new method, like the 'one touch' tidying rule, or the SIMPLE method. 'Tidying becomes exciting when you try a new system,' adds astrologer Julia.
Pisces (February 19-March 20)
Turn tidying into a form of meditation.
Both Julia and cleaning expert Karina recommend creating calm if you're a Pisces, to turn tidying your home into a way to clear your mind.
'Play a dreamy playlist,' suggests Julia. 'Your mood is everything, and tidying will feel more like a meditation.' Curating a playlist is also a great way to make cleaning fun, whether you're a Pisces or not.
'Set a calming atmosphere – scented candles or music – to make cleaning feel like a self-care ritual,' adds Karina. 'Work intuitively, one space at a time.'
There is a good reason the five-senses cleaning method works so well.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Fast and fiery, Aries needs speed.'
'Fast and fiery, Aries needs speed,' says Karina. 'You thrive on momentum.'
So, recommends Julia, set a 10-minute timer and race yourself. 'You thrive on adrenaline! Turning tidying into a challenge helps you stay engaged and burn off restless energy,' she says. 'How much can you tidy in 10 minutes?'
Combine with the 10-10-10 decluttering method for a fun blitz that brings great tidying impact.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Tauruses thrive on little luxuries.
As Scott Schrader, cleaning expert at CottageCare, explains, Tauruses, 'Think about quality first, not quantity. They like to buy durable, quality, stylish organizers for their home, and love comfort or luxury.'
Therefore, we recommend products like the Wisuce Bamboo Desk Organizer available at Amazon, and the Delamu Bathroom Organizer available at Walmart for getting tidy and organized, both of which are affordable and functional, yet beautiful.
Julia Topaz, astrologer and founder of Look Up The Stars Astrology, adds, 'Light a luxurious best candle and put on a slow-jam playlist. Your senses are everything. Make tidying feel indulgent. Who can resist it? Not you, certainly!'
