Nate Berkus says you don't need to splurge on this key piece of tableware – we agree

You don't need to spend a fortune when it comes to glassware, according to interior designer Nate Berkus

Fall is very nearly upon us and whilst there are so many reasons to look forward to the cozy months ahead, the opportunity to host festive dinner parties is certainly high on our list.

Whether you enjoy setting the dining table for an elaborate dinner party or rather find joy in crafting a thoughtful tablescape for the everyday, fall is the perfect time of year to refresh your dinnerware collection with some fresh items.

To help us prepare and elevate our hosting game, we've turned to celebrity interior designer Nate Berkus. The designer, who regularly imparts his expert styling tips via his Instagram, shared a video all about glassware, and specifically why you don't need to spend a fortune on glasses.

In the video, Berkus references two different glasses: an affordable water glass option from CB2 and a far more expensive (albeit still very beautiful) goblet. He proceeds to advise that opting for more affordably priced glassware that you can make use of every day – as well as include in your dinner party tablescaping – is his preferred option.

Explaining that when inevitably the odd glass breaks, it's not quite so disheartening had it been a far more expensive piece of glassware. 'You don’t have to spend a lot of money on clear glassware,' he concludes the video by saying.

We certainly agree: opting for reasonably priced glasses that can be used every day and equally at dinner parties is a wise choice. If you do want to elevate things further, however, invest in more expensive glassware that can be reserved for special occasions and you don't need to worry about them getting damaged with everyday use.

Below, we've put together a glassware edit for both affordable and investment options, which are perfect for elevating your fall table decor ideas

Best affordable glasses

Inspired by Berkus, we've turned to modern interior brand CB2 for their selection of affordable glassware. Perfect for everyday use or of course at a dinner party, these glasses will become a staple part of your collection.

Sold in sets of six, they're an affordable way of creating a cohesive and clean look and as Berkus suggests, you don't need to be too precious with them.

Glassware to invest in

If you've got your everyday glassware covered and are instead looking to invest in some standout pieces, we've rounded up some of our favorites below. From cocktail coupes to playful and colorful water glasses, these bring joy to the table and are perfect for elevating your dining table styling to the next level.
