This summer, I'm on a mission to make my patio the most desirable place to hang out on my property. I have bought everything from plush furniture and throw pillows to an outdoor rug that makes the scene look extra inviting. Some would say my patio is complete, but in my opinion, it's missing the most important feature: lighting.

Although I've searched long and hard for the perfect lighting idea for my patio, I keep coming up short. Portable table lamps aren't substantial enough, string lights are a bit too casual for my liking, and hard-wiring a light feature is simply not in my wheelhouse. I was beginning to think I'd never find the right light source for my patio, but then I found the perfect piece: this Solar Outdoor Floor Lamp from Amazon.

It's solar-powered but also rechargeable; timelessly designed with a wicker shade and features a sleek metal base. Standing just under 5 ft. tall, it's able to cast a pronounced glow – perfect for lighting up a patio space. And as if it couldn't get any better, it's priced at just under $150 – a steal for outdoor lighting.

Most outdoor lighting takes the form of table lamps, wall sconces, pendants, and string lights, with floor lamps reserved for indoor use. But considering how practical they are in indoor lighting schemes, it's only right that they find a place in outdoor set-ups, too.

And this one – with its solar-powered capabilities, its cordless nature, its wicker shade, its heavy metal base, its clever, detachable table (I can keep going!) – just might give its indoor counterparts a run for their money.

This floor lamp is conveniently designed with a built-in side table – blending two outdoor furnishings into one. If you already have a side table in your patio scheme, this one is easy to remove.

I see this floor lamp becoming an indispensable feature in patio schemes – a detail that's just as important as outdoor furniture pieces like sofas, accent chairs, and dining tables. And if you have a small patio, it's even more beneficial, as it not only provides warm light, but doubles as an outdoor side table, too.

My praise aside, lots of reviewers rave about this outdoor floor lamp for its durability, its design, and even the ambience it creates. 'I absolutely love this solar floor lamp! It has completely transformed my deck into a cozy, inviting space that truly feels like an extension of my home,' one reviewer wrote. 'The wicker shade adds wonderful texture and an organic feel that perfectly complements my outdoor décor and gives my space that warm, modern organic vibe.'

I'm convinced Amazon's Solar Outdoor Floor Lamp can make any patio look and feel like a true outdoor living room.

How I'd Style Amazon's Outdoor Floor Lamp

This outdoor floor lamp from Amazon will make your patio scheme look as good as your interior spaces. Here's how I'd style it to create an inviting atmosphere.

Layered lighting isn't only beneficial for indoor schemes – it works wonders to create inviting outdoor environments, too. So, aside from Amazon's Solar Outdoor Floor Lamp, consider adding other light sources to your patio, too, such as the ones below.

Between its clever design, its versatility, and its effortless glow, this chic floor lamp will make for a truly unique feature for your patio – one you didn't know you needed and won't be able to live without.

That said, it's not the only unique lighting feature I've come across recently. If Amazon's Floor Lamp checks off high-level outdoor lighting, then Anthropologie's Solar Pebble Lights check off the low-level lights. These rock-shaped light features can illuminate walkways, patio perimeters, and gardens in the chicest way possible.
