I'm sick of my bulky blender – Nutribullet's new portable blender could be just the thing to transform my morning routine
The new Nutribullet Flex Blender promises to be lightweight, compact, and yet super powerful

The summer might be at an end, but I love a fresh and wholesome smoothie all year round, and there's only one thing standing between me and my favorite breakfast: a good blender that's convenient enough to pop straight in my bag for the office.
Every home cook knows the importance of investing in the best blender, but my current blender is big and bulky, so just isn't convenient for the morning rush before work. Having to decant messy smoothies into a separate cup and wash up fiddly blender attachments before leaving the house does not make for a stress-free morning, which is why Nutribullet's new Flex Portable Blender caught my eye.
Thanks to a shortage of kitchen storage and a distinct lack of counter space, I usually look out for smaller blenders rather than opting for an all-singing, all-dancing model, so a portable blender feels like a far better choice. Our testers included two Nutribullet models in our guide to the best portable travel blenders, I've been eager to see how this new Nutribullet Flex shapes up.
From smoothies and protein shakes to frozen cocktails, this portable blender promises to pack a punch – and at just $70, it's an affordable option. It's available in six vibrant colorways (including purple, red, green and blue), and if you do feel like showing it off, it won't take up too much precious space on your worktop thanks to its compact size.
I've always loved the practicality of Nutribullet blenders, but like me, you might have found yourself wondering which Nutribullet should you buy. While the Nutribullet Pro 900 is really powerful, it isn't actually cordless (the removable cups are though, which is why it made it into our guide), and the Nutribullet Flip has a handy insulated cup, but can't handle tougher jobs like crushing ice.
The Nutribullet Flex promises a pretty seamless experience, however. Just like any reliable travel blender, the Nutribullet Flex is small but mighty. Compact, rechargeable, and powerful enough to crush ice, it seems to check all of my boxes. The battery indicator is also a handy feature (no more nasty surprises if you haven't charged it up for a while).
Both the blade and the 22-ounce cup can detach from the base of the blender, meaning that you can whip up a smoothie and drop it straight in your bag. Plus, the cup features a leakproof flip-top lid and a built-in carry loop, so it really is designed for life on the go – which will undoubtedly make my life easier during those chaotic weekday mornings.
While it's a mission to prep my breakfast and head out for work in record time, there's nothing worse than leaving a pile of dirty dishes (and a messy blender) to deal with when I return home at the end of a busy day at work.
So, the Nutribullet Flex could revolutionize my morning (and after-work routine, too). Crucially, the blade, cup, and lid are all dishwasher-safe – so you can just pop them in when you get home and wake up to a clean blender ready to use the next morning. I don't need much more convincing than that.

While this blender is portable, it isn't cordless – but it's the most powerful blender we've tested. It can produce flawless drinks in under 30 seconds, and you can even use it to make ultra-smooth hummus.
If you prefer a protein shake over a fruit smoothie, the Ninja Blast is the travel blender for you – but our team says that it's brilliant at blending up frozen cocktails and desserts, too.
This battery-operated blender has a stainless steel lining that keeps drinks cool for up to 24 hours. Our tester says that 'the motor is powerful, the design feels trustworthy, and the lid never leaked during a week of testing.'
Weighing up a Nutribullet versus a Ninja blender? They're both bestsellers for good reason – but if you're after convenience, the Nutribullet Flex sounds like a good option at a reasonable price point.
