Best Labor Day deals 2023: Jump Menu
Labor Day is here, and a wide range of deals have dropped across the biggest retailers in the country. It's your last chance to grab a good deal before Black Friday and you won't see outdoor furniture at these prices until next year.
I oversee all the reviews content here at Homes & Gardens so I know exactly which products are worth buying and which aren't worth your time.
I've personally combed through every site and edited all of our Labor Day sales coverage, picking out all of the very best deals found by our writers. These are my picks of the very best in every category.
I've whittled it down, but even with a little selectivity there's more than 60 deals across outdoor furniture, indoor furniture, and a huge range of appliances and mattresses.
- Wayfair outdoor furniture : 70% off outdoor chairs, cushions, tables, and seating
- Walmart outdoor furniture sale : More than $1000 off some patio sets
- Target outdoor furniture sale : Big discounts on a huge range of outdoor décor
- Lowe's outdoor furniture sale: Thousands of dollars off select furniture
My favorite deals
Emma Original Mattress, Queen |was $1399, now $529 at Emma
This is a huge discount on a mattress we loved on test. There's no better mattress at this price point right now.
Hoover ONEPWR Pet Max | was $309.99, now $177.99 at Amazon
This is a great saving on a good vacuum cleaner. I have one of these in my apartment and it's pretty good. The anti-hair wrap and runtime could be better, but it's amazing on carpet. While there are certainly better vacuums out there, there aren't any better at this price. If you need a good vacuum ASAP, I'd get this now.
Ovios 5 Pieces Outdoor Patio Furniture | Was $1899, now $729.99 at Walmart
This discount of more than $1000 is one of the best deals I've seen of any sales event this year, but you'll have to move quickly – stock is selling out fast.
Outdoor furniture deals
Was $1899, now $729.99 at Walmart
I think this is my favorite deal this Labor Day. It's one of the biggest savings I've ever seen, and great value for a five-piece set that works well for pretty much any patio design. There's even pillows thrown in for free.
Was $999.99, now $499.99 at Target
This table and chairs will seat six, and it now costs less than $500, which is remarkably good value for outdoor furniture.
Was $1599.99, now $998.99 at Walmart
I love aluminum for garden furniture. It's lightweight, so it's cheap and easy to store, but it's also rustproof, so it weathers well. It won't suit more traditional yards but it's a bargain for sleek, modern yard designs.
Was $1099.99, now $649.99 at Walmart
I really like the lightweight polywicker frame on this furniture set, giving a modern twist on a classic wicker weave. This set is now nearly $500 off for Labor Day.
Was $1,192, now $222.99 at Wayfair
This rattan set is discounted by nearly $1000, which is an amazing deal. I think this would be great on a porch or a veranda for a little breakfast nook.
Was $1,629.99, now $809.99 at Target
I've loved this set for a while because it's such great value. It's almost a buy-one-get-one-free deal of two identical sets. It's so much furniture and it gives you lots of different design choices - one big seating area or lots of little seating areas spread throughout the yard.
Was $1,223, now $369.99 at Wayfair
Another incredible discount: $900 off this set takes it below $400. It's maybe not the most stylish, but it;s incredible value, and would be perfect next to a pool.
Was $1389, now $729.99 at Lowe's
I've seen sets that look like this for more than triple the price at high-end furniture makers. It's a beautiful set of luxury furniture at a much more reasonable price.
Was $6299, now $4809 at Lowe's
It's still expensive, but a nearly $1500 discount is up there with the biggest I've seen this Labor Day. It's a little over-the-top, but just imagine drinks out on the patio with a built-in fire to keep you warm.
Was $1099.99, now $699.99 at Walmart
Modular sofas are so versatile. This set can be arranged as a pseudo-conversation pit as above, or changed into a long L-shaped sectional, or broken up into lots of different mixed seating for parties. This gray and navy set is perfect for sitting poolside.
Was $1299.99, now $499.99 at Walmart
This unbelievable $800 saving is one of the best deals I've seen this Labor Day. For the price of some outdoor chairs, you can grab a 3-seat sofa, a chair, and ottoman and a coffee table.
Was $136, now $95.99 at Walmart
Sure, it's not the best deal in the world, but it's hard to beat an American classic like this Adirondack chair. Made from hardwearing acacia, this chair is lighter and cheaper than the equivalent in teak and has none of the potential ethical concerns.
Mattress deals
Was $1399, now $529 at Emma
This is one of our favorite box mattresses, conveniently delivered in a box to your door. It has an amazing 50% off at the moment, though this deal has been on for a while, and we don't expect it to go anywhere.

Was $1,995, now $1,695 at Saatva
The Saatva classic mattress is our number one mattress. It's a hybrid mattress that will suit everyone, and can be customised to your exact preferences. It's simply the most comfortable bed we've ever tested.

Was $1049, now $699 at Nectar
Our pick for the best memory foam mattress around, and best mattress for back pain, the Nectar memory foam mattress is now 33% off. It's anecdotal, so take it with a pinch of salt, but this mattress really helped our tester's fibromyalgia.

Was $1299, now $1002 at Amazon
The Leesa Original all-foam mattress is our best mattress for side sleepers. We think it's the ideal combination of cooling, contouring, and pressure-relieving support. It's on sale at Leesa too, but I've found it for $97 cheaper than their sale price at Amazon. However, a word of warning: this bed is incredibly soft. If you love a firm bed, you'll find this uncomfortable.

Was $1,199, now $799 at DreamCloud
This hybrid stands out from others on the market because it's so much cheaper. However, on test we found a luxurious, comfortable mattress that's a great compromise for couples.

Was $3,395, now $2,546,25 at Casper
If you're a hot sleeper, you've just met the perfect mattress. Recent heatwaves have shown it really pays off to have a cooling mattress, and in our estimation this is the best you can get. On test, it felt cold to the touch. It's still expensive, but a nearly $850 saving is always worth having.

Swivel chairs are always the first ones people claim. You can angle them to the perfect position, or spin to avoid the light falling directly in your eyes. This boucle fabric is irresistibly tactile too.
