Curtains instantly make any room look and feel cozier – they are an absolute must in my book. However, living in rentals for most of my adult life has often meant I have had to go without them, or try propping up a tension rod (which usually came down a few days later).

Imagine how annoyed I was when I finally discovered these renter-friendly Tap Brackets, from Amazon, which allow you to hang curtains in under 60 seconds without damage, three years after I needed them.

I wish I had these renter-friendly curtain rod holders when I was in college to hang curtains without drilling – here’s why.

The brackets are super simple to use. To hang curtains, all you have to do is line the bracket up with the top of your window frame and use a hammer (from Lowe’s to tap the bracket into your frame. No extra nails, no screws, and no drills needed for this decorating tip to make a rental feel like home.

The bracket will leave a super tiny hole on the very top of your window frame, but it will not be visible to any landlords. If you want to be extra safe, you can always patch it with the tiniest amount of wood filler, also from Lowe’s, but this is not a necessary step.

Verified Amazon shopper Misty, hailed them as ‘great for apartments,’ sharing, ‘My apartment also has a “no drilling” rule, so I didn’t know what to do. I bought this product, and it took 60 seconds to install. It instantly solved all my problems. Whoever made this is a genius! It’s so simple it’s ridiculous. Love it! Definitely a must buy.’

Fellow shopper Angel added, ‘It may be a bit exaggerated, but I think these things practically saved my marriage! We tried to hang curtains before, and it was awful. But these were so easy to install, just as described. Good quality too.’

What to shop

The only downside to these brackets is that your curtain rods will be situated directly atop your window frame, giving you little control over how high to hang curtains around your home. If it is this or no curtains, however, we know which option we would settle for – curtain ideas all the way!
