Lindsay Lohan's living room seamlessly blends these rustic and chic features to tap into an ever-popular trend
Raw wood staple pieces are the ideal companion for minimalist rooms – and experts say this aesthetic is shaping how we decorate for 2024
Natural textures and sleek, modern sensibilities go together seamlessly, so it's no wonder the organic modern trend has taken off with no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Lindsay Lohan is the latest celebrity to partake in the style. The Mean Girls and The Parent Trap Star, who recently released a new Netflix film called The Irish Wish, posted a photo of her and her husband, Bader Shammas, in their rustic-minimalist living room, featuring a raw wood dining table.
Wood details are commonplace in kitchens and living rooms, from floor panels to cabinetry. Incorporating a statement piece, such as Lohan's raw table with bench seating, gives the room a more natural feeling. The key to keeping decor within the organic modern realm is to ensure that other details remain simple and sleek, just as Lohan has achieved in her space.

'The Organic Modern trend is highly adaptable to personal taste,' Homes & Gardens' editor, Jennifer Ebert says. 'Raw wood furniture is an obvious staple for the design, but other materials, such as cotton and linen placemats or accent pillows, are great choices as well to achieve the natural look.'
Jen is Deputy Editor (Digital) of Homes & Gardens online. Before starting this position, she had completed various courses at KLC Design School, as well as working across Ideal Home, LivingEtc, 25 Beautiful Homes and Country Homes & Interiors as an interiors writer.
An essential element of the Organic Modern trend is juxtaposition. While woods and cotton accents can warm up a space, shiny metals and crisp whites cool it down. 'Strategically mix things up with color and texture,' Jen advises. 'Try decorating an oak dining table with silver cutlery, or seek out woven seating with painted black legs.'
Last but not least, when designing a color scheme for an Organic Modern room, we should remember that decorating with neutrals is at the heart of the design trend.
'The color palette for this trend should mostly remain within the realm of creams, beiges, and grays,' Jen explains. 'These hues create a timeless and chic atmosphere, all of which is accented by natural elements that make a room feel closer to nature.'
