'This is the only dog I'll have in my home' – Shea McGee just set the unexpected trend for vintage-style dog artwork, and now I am seeing it everywhere
As a proud dog mom, this might just be my favorite trend yet, and Shea's buy is just $15

Even as a proud (very, very proud) dog mom, I didn't have dog art on my trending interiors bingo card for 2025. But boy, am I glad we're here.
I've been quietly collecting vintage dog prints from thrift stores and flea markets for years, drawn to their character and charm. So when I saw that designer Shea McGee had included a sweet Pointer pup portrait in her new Fall collection at Target, I felt totally seen. And now I am seeing this adorable style of artwork everywhere, Anthropologie just did a whole collection too!
Taking to Instagram this week, Shea shared a playful video showing off her latest canine design. 'How cute is this little dog artwork? I love it so much,' she gushed. Little did she know, she was speaking something (or someone) into existence with this new product drop...

'This is the only dog I'll have in my home,' she jokes in the video, later revealing the real-life puppy they have just welcomed into their family. 'I once said the only dog I’d ever have in my home was the one in our new Target collection... and then came Gigi,' reads the caption. Gigi, in case you're wondering, is the McGee family's adorable new Cavapoo.
And while we can't all start manifesting puppies into existence via wall decor ideas, we can certainly join Shea in this oh-so-cute trend. The best part is, it feels super stylish too.
Dog art, especially when it’s in a vintage style, adds humor and heart without compromising on sophistication. Whether it’s a stately oil painting of a Labrador or a cheeky little pug in a baroque frame, these pieces have a way of drawing you in and making you smile.
Thanks to the hexagonal gilt gold frame and painterly design, this pretty Pointer painting feels like an antique piece and will add plenty of personality to your gallery wall.
Whether you're a fellow dog lover or simply want to bring a little nostalgic character to your walls, this unexpected design trend is proof that a home with heart (and a waggy tail) is always in style.
Below, I’ve gathered some of the best dog art pieces available right now – from affordable Amazon finds to Anthropologie’s unique picks that look straight out of an antique shop.
For a minimalist option, this 'Good Boy' piece depicts a sweet dog holding his own lead (walkies, anyone?) on watercolor paper and is framed in a distressed antique silver frame. Perfect for more farmhouse aesthetics.
From affordable finds to hand-painted treasures, there’s a sweet dog wall art find out there to suit every style and every breed preference. And if you’re looking for advice on how to decorate with vintage art, check out our guide to sourcing and shopping like a pro.
