I used to dread laundry day, and rightfully so – I live in a third-floor New York City walk-up without a washing machine, so in order to clean my clothes, I have to haul everything out of my building, around the corner, and down the block to the nearest laundromat. It's not a terrible trek, but when dirty laundry piles up, the journey is quite tiresome, and it hasn't worn well on my college-era Santa Claus-like laundry sack.
I knew there had to be a less strenuous way to do laundry and a bag that could help me get the job done in style and with ease. Sure enough, there is. Enter IKEA's PURRPINGLA Laundry Bag – the streamlined, Scandi-chic laundry tote that sufficiently stores laundry in the home and makes wash days anyting but a chore.
Measuring 17 1/4" in depth, 8" in width, and 22 1/2" in height, this laundry bag is slim by design – making it perfect for small spaces. It's cleverly made with two interior compartments, a top zipper, and two handles for easy transportation. And with its metal frame, it can stand firmly wherever you place it. Additionally, its interior is lined with a plastic coating to protect against moisture.
With this sleek, soft tan laundry bag over your arm, you can transform the tedious task of doing laundry into a surprisingly stylish moment (at least that's what I'm doing as I strut down the NYC sidewalks to my laundromat).

Inside, it features two compartments – perfect for sorting laundry from the get-go. Plus, there's a zipper across the top, put in place to keep all of your clothes safely sealed as you journey to and from the washing machine or to hide them from sight. But the best part? The bag itself conveniently slides on a metal frame (sold together with the bag) to stand upright in your room. All that, and it's only $25.
For wardrobes, walk-in closets, or even small closet spaces, IKEA's PURRPINGLA laundry bag can conveniently sit on the floor, providing a practical spot for dirty laundry.
Because the dimensions of this laundry bag are slim, it doesn't take up more space than it needs to. It can fit beside the sink in your small bathroom, along the dresser in your small bedroom, or, if you're lucky enough to have a proper laundry room, it can stand in there, too. Personally, I plan on positioning this laundry bag and its metal frame in the closet of my small apartment. Even though its cloth fabric is attractive by design and I'd be more than happy to leave it out on display, I'm glad it's compact enough to store in a closet, keeping dirty laundry out of sight.
I'm not the only one who thinks IKEA's PURRPINGLA laundry bag is a genius laundry storage idea. This bag boasts over 40 5-star reviews on IKEA's website. Many remark on its exceptional design, expressing how convenient it is for small spaces. Others comment on its size, explaining that while it looks small, it holds a surprisingly large amount of clothes. Some even make note of its stylish design – 'now my laundry is no longer an eyesore in the corner,' one reviewer writes. 'I love the elegant look and that you can zip a lid over the bag. It's also really easy to take the laundry down to the laundry room because there are good handles on the bag,' they continue.

IKEA's PURRPINGLA laundry bag has ticked all the boxes. Its two handles make transportation easy, its pockets make sorting a breeze, its zipper hides messes, and its metal frame gives it a stylish place to stand. Not to mention its $25 price tag – which is all the more reason to love it.

Streamlined, simplified, and stylish by design. This laundry basket is an effortlessly chic storage spot for dirty clothes. Plus, its handy lid (finished with a coated, leather-like handle) keeps unsightly messes concealed. While this model is on the smaller side (perfect for small spaces), it's also available in a larger size that has more room to hold sullied laundry.
Looking for something that feels more like a traditional laundry basket? Here's your pick. With its woven exterior and cloth liner, this basket is sleek and elegant by design. Not only can it benefit your room as a place to store dirty clothes, but it'll add a level of style, too. Just like the other options, this laundry basket is designed with two interior compartments for sorting laundry as well as a small bonus pocket.
This laundry bin is almost identical to the PURRPINGLA laundry bag, except it's on wheels. It's the perfect alternative for those who have washer machines in their homes (I'm jealous) because it eliminates the struggle to carry your laundry basket or bag with you from room to room. What's more, this laundry bin has a clever lid to hide dirty laundry and maintain a clean look in your room.
Leave it to IKEA to design a product as clever as the PURRPINGLA laundry bag – a storage solution that simplifies the laundry routine and gives piled-up laundry a proper, stylish home. If piled-up clothes aren't a problem in your household, but piled-up shoes are, don't fret – IKEA has something for you, too. The brand's STÄLL shoe cabinet gives heaps of shoes a place to live that's streamlined and surprisingly chic.
