If there is one thing Le Creuset is famous for besides the heirloom quality, it is their epic color options. From their signature Cerise red to their newest Foret green, there is something for everyone.

However, with the arrival of new options comes the sad end to others, and for 2026, this means bidding goodbye to fan favorites Shallot and Caribbean.

Le Creuset is Retiring Shallot and Caribbean

Both launched in 2023, Shallot and Caribbean were the colors for spring and summer, offering the perfect 'new neutral' and vibrant splash to brighten up a seasonal kitchen. They brought with them a whole new way to style the full Le Creuset range, including their fan-favorite Dutch ovens, but all good things must come to an end.

We still aren't over the last batch of retirees, which included discontinuing the classic Meringue color, but as we saw then, a cut comes with a killer sale. Once again, the axed colors come with some serious discounts on the final remaining items. It really is a 'get it before it's gone' moment.

The Best Alternatives to Caribbean and Shallot

If the exact piece you're desperate for isn't available in these retiring shades, worry not. Le Creuset are not exactly short on similar matches if you want a comparable match without the risk of having half an incomplete set.

For those craving a springtime refresh, Le Creuset's Shell Pink is your next best option. It leans a little more pink than lilac, but the delicate blush tones are just as romantic. The collection is limited, with only a few serving platters, Shell Pink Heritage Mugs, and a Wicked (2024) movie edition Le Creuset Signature Dutch Oven, but it is the closest you'll get to the soft Shallot shade.

Alternatively, the Le Creuset Chiffon Pink collection, with its expansive range into Mini Round Cocottes, Signature Skillets, and Heritage Baking Dish Sets, offers more form choice, but in a bolder pink hue.

For those grieving the Caribbean colorway, Le Creuset's Chambray Collection is the closest match. It loses some of that vibrant pop of the previous summery tone, but matches the soothing sea tones more calmly, making it easier to integrate into any existing kitchen or tableware. Again, this expansive, well-stocked color is available in everything from the Chambray Signature Round Dutch Oven to the iconic Chambray Vancouver 16-Piece Dinnerware Set.
