It's one of the best investments for your kitchen, and now Made In has joined the cast-iron game with their first dedicated collection.

I've long appreciated the best cast iron cookware for its unrivalled durability, flavorful results, and non-toxic construction, but the Made In pieces have caught my eye with their beautiful vintage design, handcrafted for heritage performance without requiring years of seasoning and use to develop character.

I love Made in for their commitment to making some of the best non-toxic cookware, including the Made In Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven I reviewed. Their cookware has repeatedly scored over four stars in our hands-on testing, making it some of the best for your kitchen.

The new collection is made with chef-grade, USA-made cast iron, safe up to 900°F for use both indoors on all stoves (including induction), on your best grill, and for campfire cooking, making it the perfect pre-summer investment.

Better still, the hand-finished cookware arrives pre-seasoned, creating a smooth cooking surface that reduces warmup time, promotes quick release, and improves over time. Plus, the chef-inspired 'bowl' corners ensure nothing gets trapped at the edges for easy release and clean up.

The cast iron is designed for outdoor and indoor cooking, making each pan versatile and good value.

What intrigues me the most is the way these pans are made. Made In has used a separate lathing and ceramic tumbling process to create a surface that is significantly smoother and lighter, providing the performance of a vintage pan with modern durability. As someone who cooks a lot, both for personal joy and professionally as a Kitchen Appliances Editor, I am interested to see how much of a difference this will make to cooking, and how achy (or not) my wrists feel afterwards.

If nothing else, the vintage cast iron aesthetic adds rustic charm to any kitchen, looking as good as it performs on the stove. It's cookware I wouldn't want to hide, keeping it proudly on my counter as decor.

The collection is currently at Williams Sonoma and will arrive at Made In at the beginning of June.
