5 best Benjamin Moore colors for bathrooms
Whether you're intrigued by the Benjamin Moore paint colors you've never heard of or prefer to play it safe with the brand's staple neutrals, its shades are hardworking and versatile – exactly what you need for bathroom paint ideas. And when it comes to designers' picks and exploring Benjamin Moore paint colors in real homes, it seems they like to keep things relatively classic.
1. Chantilly Lace
If you look into the shades that are widely considered Benjamin Moore's best white paints, there are a few that you will come across repeatedly, especially one that proves popular for its warm, timeless appeal.
'One of our go-to paint colors for bathrooms is Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore,' says Sabah Mansoor, founder and principal designer of the eponymous Northern Californian design studio.
'It’s a beautifully balanced white with subtle warm undertones that keep it from feeling too stark. The result is a space that feels clean, fresh, and quietly soothing, perfect for a bathroom retreat.'

But it's not just in these more traditional, retreat-like bathrooms that this hue is a great choice. It's a versatile shade that also creates a fresh base for more modern bathrooms, like this space designed by Marina Hanisch Interiors.
'When I’m not using bathroom wallpaper, my go-to paint color for bathrooms is usually Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace. It has a clean, crisp quality with just a hint of warmth that reflects light beautifully – something that’s especially important in smaller spaces like bathrooms, where you want everything to feel open and airy,' says Marina.
It's also the perfect neutral for pairing with other colors and finishes in your bathroom. 'It complements the materials I tend to use most, such as light stone, brass, chrome, and natural woods, while providing a subtle backdrop for decorative elements and artwork,' she adds.
2. Simply White
There are a lot of elements to consider when it comes to bathroom colors. There are tiles, fixtures, and your bathroom vanity, just to name a few. As such, it can often make more sense to embrace a more pared-back hue on the walls to ground a room and create a cohesive base.
'For bathrooms that have more color or lean into creamier tones, we suggest Simply White. This is a soft, creamy white, which will still render as white to the naked eye, but is a bit gentler. It pairs well with almost any color, especially earthy tones and warm greys,' explains Lina Galvao, co-founder and director of business at Curated Nest.
She notes that it's not just the color you have to think about, but the finish, too. 'One key element of picking paint is the finish. People often use semi-gloss or satin finish on their bathroom walls, which does not look good. We suggest using flat or matte for a more high-end look.'
3. Cushing Green
There are a few color combinations that instantly feel classic, and in turn, totally timeless. While white and blue are the most obvious choices, green and white are a great alternative for something more unique. And there are some brilliant shades from Benjamin Moore that designers recommend.
'I love using green and white in bathrooms. White always feels fresh and clean, and green adds energy to the bathroom,' says interior designer Cynthia Ferguson, who designed the bathroom above.
'I love a fresh cut grass shade of green, but when I need a little more depth, I love Benjamin Moore’s Cushing Green. It feels a little more sophisticated and warm. For brilliant white walls with a tad of warmth, White Dove is my go-to!'
4. Swiss Coffee
Neutral bathroom colors seem to be a favorite palette among designers, especially when it comes to Benjamin Moore paints. But the shade you choose will be entirely dependent on the other hues you plan to bring into the space. In this design, the paint color has been chosen to complement the wooden details.
'We love Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee in a bathroom. Classic and clean, this white is warm enough to keep a tile-heavy space from feeling sterile, but not so creamy as to create a yellow pallor in the space,' say interior designers Mallory Robins and Elizabeth Bennett, co-partners at Kobel + Co.
It pairs beautifully with the wood tones in this bathroom, but Swiss Coffee is a great choice to complement earthier tones such as blues and greens. In particular, it's a recommended pairing for Benjamin Moore's Lush and Newburg Green.
5. Smoky Green, Healing Aloe, and Quiet Moments
There's no denying the appeal of decorating with green. It's become such a popular palette, we have begun to consider it a neutral. But whether you prefer the richer, moodier tones or lighter, earthy shades, there are a few Benjamin Moore paints that work a treat in bathroom schemes.
'For this bathroom, we used Benjamin Moore Smoky Green. This color is a chameleon, appearing green, blue, or grey depending on the lighting. While it's a soft color, it's not a pastel, so it feels sophisticated and serene, explains Staver Gray, co-founder at Ward + Gray.
And it's not the only green shade from the brand's portfolio that adds a more exciting neutral hue to bathrooms, especially in small spaces when there is less opportunity to add characterful details.
'For bathrooms, I love soft, neutral colors that still bring personality. Benjamin Moore Healing Aloe (a gentle green) and Quiet Moments (a muted blue green) both feel clean and peaceful without overwhelming the space. Healing Aloe is like a spa day in paint form, in my opinion,' says interior designer Melanie Bryant.
Instead of being faced with a seemingly never-ending list of bathroom colors, these designer-approved shades are the key to a classic scheme. When deciding on the right shade, consider the look and feel you want to create.
Some colors make a bathroom look more expensive, while others can create an intimate or spa-like feel. And whether you opt for one of these timeless shades of white or a richer green hue, make sure you choose the right paint finish – it can really make or break your design.
