Pink is no longer reserved for little girls' rooms. Pink has grown up, trading its sickly sweet reputation for a more down-to-earth, sophisticated aesthetic. It is a color that oozes confidence while still remaining fun and playful. The pretty hue used in this bedroom packs a punch when it comes to creating a sophisticated scheme with a hint of romance – perfect for the main bedroom.
When decorating with pink, you don't just have to stick to pink paint either. In fact, we are noticing more and more furniture and accessory brands turning their hands to pink.
In this space, interior designer Tom Fox of Fox-Nahem Design curated a haven of delightful yet subtle pinks. From the bubblegum hue on the headboard and end of the bed bench to the subtle pink sheen on the rug, pink is the standout shade that continues to impress without overpowering.
However, be wary of overdoing overly sugary pinks. ‘Pink has a very alluring quality. It draws you in, is welcoming, and is easy on the eye. But you have to be careful not to get too sickly sweet,’ says interior designer Samantha Todhunter. 'To dial back the sugary nature of some pinks, look to use shades with tones of beige, off-white, and taupe.'
