As one of the most famous drag queens in the world, RuPaul is well-acquainted with the world of glamour. The RuPaul's Drag Race host is known for flaunting fabulous hair, makeup, and outfits on the reality competition show, but, as we discovered when he posted photos of his Martyn Lawrence Bullard-designed home last year, his sense of style transfers over to interior decor.

The Queen of Drag recently uploaded a video to his Instagram page, poking fun at the Quiet Luxury trend by sashaying through his opulent home entryway, with a grand staircase, pink walls, and, most notably, exquisite marble floors.

Decorating with marble is a powerful way to make a statement in our home, from kitchen islands to living room coffee tables. Utilizing it for flooring is yet another way to implement this timeless trend, albeit in a bolder way. It makes the perfect first impression, which is what we'd expect from RuPaul's space, after all.

'The natural allure of marble lies in its exquisite veining and unique patterns, which lend a touch of opulence to any space,' says interior designer Miriam Prada. 'Moreover, its cool, smooth surface provides respite from warmer temperatures, making it a practical choice in climates both temperate and tropical.'

'Whether adorning the floors of grand palaces or modern penthouses, its aesthetic appeal transcends trends and fads, ensuring its perennial relevance.'

Due to its appearance (and particularly if using a white variation), marble requires considerable upkeep; though it's highly manageable.

'Caring for marble floors requires a delicate touch,' Prada says. 'Regular cleaning with a pH-neutral cleaner and soft mop helps preserve its luster without causing damage. Additionally, sealing the surface periodically helps protect against stains and moisture ingress, prolonging its lifespan.'

For those looking to add even more texture to a marbled floor, Prada recommends trying out tried and true rugs for visual interest.

'When it comes to rugs atop marble floors, the possibilities are as diverse as they are stylish,' she says. 'Decorating with neutral tones such as beige or cream harmonizes beautifully with the natural hues of marble, creating a sense of cohesion and serenity. Alternatively, bold patterns or vibrant colors can inject personality and visual interest into the space, juxtaposing against the understated elegance of the marble.'

Marble has a natural place in the entryway, where making an impactful first impression counts. However, these pieces look beautiful in every room of the home.
