There is no appliance quite as convenient as an air fryer. Being able to crisp up food more efficiently than an oven in a fraction of the time makes this appliance perfect for busy families who need to simplify midweek dinners.
However, restricted basket sizes can make that convenience feel a little stretched, especially in larger households. That's where the Typhur Dome 2 Air Fryer, available at Amazon, comes in.
This XL air fryer has a jumbo-sized basket, quick cooking times, and a non-toxic ceramic coating, making it perfect for big, busy families who are looking to make meal times that little bit healthier. Its usually whopping price tag has taken a nice dive in this limited sale, too, making it the perfect time to invest.
The best air fryers already do a lot to make manic meal times a little more manageable, and are something every home cook should have in their kitchens to make life easier. However, to fit neatly on a counter, the baskets often leave something to be desired.
This is far from the case with the Typhur Dome 2, which we reviewed and gave five stars. Tested by our expert chef, Lydia Hayman, the air fryer was found to be 'seriously impressive,' defying all her expectations.
'The basket is uniquely wide, with enough space to make a traybake for the whole family,' she wrote. 'There’s no need to preheat, so you can go from fridge to plate in minutes. I popped in a full-sized pizza, and it crisped to perfection in eight minutes. You can also use an app to control the 10 cooking modes and get notifications on your phone when the food is ready.'
The big size comes with some big caveats, however. For instance, you may struggle to find a suitable home for it in small kitchen storage, and its wide space-ship dome might make it harder to organize kitchen countertops in a small space.
In this case, you may have to weigh up the pros and cons of sacrificing workspace for cooking convenience, and sticking with something smaller, such as the Bella Fits-AnywhereAir Fryer, from Target (which we rated four stars), and cooking in multiple batches when needed.
The Typhur tray is ideal for cooking big batches of food such as fries or vegetables, but you won't be bale to get a whole chicken inside.
In our standard tests, the Typhur Dome performed spectacularly on the fries and roasted vegetable tests, with quiet operation, quick cooking, and perfect results. Lydia shared, 'The fish turned out tender, and thanks to the wide basket, the veg had space to crisp evenly – I definitely could have made a portion for four or five without sacrificing the quality. Plus, 16 minutes is a record time.'
It's secret? Above and below heating. While most air fryers use a top-mounted fan and heating element, the Typhur Dome 2 is inspired by traditional pizza ovens to reduce cooking times by 30% compared to regular fryers. The dual heating elements mounted both top and bottom mean food is cooked more evenly without the need to flip or shake as often.
The real benefit to this beast of a machine is the fact that it makes cleaning a kitchen after dinner a breeze. Unlike traditional non-stick coated air fryers, the Typhur's ceramic basket and crisper plate are both dishwasher safe, meaning no more struggling to hand-wash dishes, especially such large ones in a small sink.

The PFAs-free Typhur Dome is wide and spacious. It can air fry in record time, as well as grill, toast, and bake 12-inch pizzas or entire meals for five people. It is expensive but incredible.
