Brimming with sun-ripened apricots, juicy peaches, and a citrussy zing, this white wine sangria is the perfect summer cocktail for warm-weather hosting.
Unlike traditional sangria, which is made with red wine, this version leans on a homemade apricot syrup for natural sweetness and a velvety texture, balanced beautifully by crisp white wine and a splash of soda.
It's one of our favorite summer cocktail recipes at the moment and wonderful for a classic summer gathering.
Ingredients (serves 6 - 8)
- 6 apricots, chopped and stoned
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 lemons
- Crushed ice
- 1 lime
- 2 ripe peaches
- 1 bottle crisp white wine, such as Riesling or Chablis
- 10 fl oz soda
The Homes & Gardens method
- Put the apricots in a medium pan with the sugar, 3.4 fl oz water, and the zest and juice of 1 lemon.
- Simmer for 10 minutes, until the fruit starts to break down. Leave to cool a little. Transfer to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Fill two jugs with ice. Slice the other lemon, lime, and peaches, then add the wine and apricot pulp. Top up with soda to taste and serve.
For effortless entertaining, serve it in a glass drinks dispenser like the Kilner Drink Dispenser from Walmart – its classic design showcases the colorful fruit while keeping guests easily topped up.
