As a product tester, only buy these pizza oven and grill deals this Cyber Monday
The colder weather brings hot deals on pizza ovens and grills
It sounds counterintuitive to buy a pizza oven or a grill with the holidays looming. Summer is months away and it's not exactly the season.
However, that means that some big pizza oven and grill retailers are getting desperate. With demand dropping to its yearly low, it means you can find these products for hundreds less than usual in the Black Friday sales. That's especially welcome with pizza ovens and grills, which are notoriously overpriced.
As a product tester, I've put plenty of these though their paces to find the produsts that are actually worth your money. Though there are thousands of deals, only a handful are worth considering.
These are the best pizza ovens and the best grills on sale for Black Friday. If you need an outdoor cooking bargain, it's here.
My favorite deal
Ooni Fyra 12 Wood Pellet Pizza Oven | Was $349, now $244 at Amazon
This isn't the most technically advanced pizza oven in the world, but I think it's the best value for money and the most fun. I first used one of these at a friend's house after coming down off a hike, and firing up this smoky oven and cooking our own pizzas with a couple beers was the perfect end to the day. Sure, the Ooni Karu has the fancy digital thermometer, but I think there's much more outdoorsy fun to be had when cooking by eye. I think $244 is much more reasonable price than you'll find for most other ovens, too.
You can find more detail in our Ooni Fyra 12 review.

Pizza oven deals
Ooni Karu 16 Multi-Fuel Pizza Oven | was $799.00, now $639.20 at Ooni
We think the Ooni Karu 16 is the best pizza oven in the world: now, you can get it for 20% less than its listing price. If you've been wanting a pizza oven, but you couldn't justify the cost, now's the time to buy. It runs on both gas and wood pellets, and has an inbuilt thermometer to make it easier to monitor progress and cook.

Ooni Koda 12 Gas Powered Pizza Oven | Was $399.00, now $319.20 at Ooni
This isn't the deepest discount you'll see over Black Friday, but it's a great product. When we put it to the test, we found The Ooni Koda 12 particularly great with thin crusts. It's also great for other dishes; we roasted delicious flame-grilled bell peppers for homemade fajitas in this. However, pizza purists might be left wanting more: a gas-powered pizza oven can't quite replicate the depth of flavor of a traditional wood burner.
Breville Smart Oven Pizzaiolo | Was $999.95, now $799.95 at Best Buy
If you want an indoor oven, this is your only chance to get one on markdown. The only real competitor is Ooni's Volt 12, which isn't on sale and will cost you a cool $1000. On test we found that indoor ovens like this taste a little sterile compared to a wood-fired oven, but this makes it much easier to time your pizzas. It also has dedicated settings for different styles, so you can switch from deep dish to traditional Neapolitan at the touch of a button.
You can find more detail in our Breville Smart Oven Pizzaiolo review.
Gozney Dome | Was $2197, now $1999 at Gozney
If you're kitting out an outdoor kitchen, this is the oven you need. both the bone white and olive colorways look much better than the boring grays and blacks of the usual pizza oven. It makes great pizzas too, but we also found it was great for flame-grilling meat.
You can find more detail in our Gozney Dome review.
Gozney Roccbox | was $499.00, now $450.00 at Amazon
This is one of our favorite pizza ovens for gas cooking. It looks great, and it's also a great option if you're worried about safety; the silicone wrap around this oven means it's less like to burn anyone as you cook.
You can find more detail in our Gozney Dome review.
Solo Stove Pi Pizza Oven | Was $709.99, now $599.99 at Amazon
This outdoor pizza oven was one of Oprah Winfrey's Favorite Things last year. The Solo Stove Pi is highly versatile, with both a wood burning assembly and a gas burner. We especially like the wide mouth, which maes it far easier to add pizzas.
Grill deals
Weber Spirit II E-310 3-Burner Liquid Propane Grill | was $639.99, now $569.00 at Amazon
I love this grill. When I tested it this year, I found the perfect middle-market grill. If you're new to grilling, you'll find this easy to use. If you want to try more complicated dishes, you'll find it can keep up.
Traeger Grills Ironwood 650 |was $1,299.99, now $1,099.95 at Amazon
Featured below and currently in testing, the Traeger Grills Ironwood 650 is our favorite smoker grill. It has a smart self-feeding hopper and can even be paired with your phone for remote operation. It was listed for less last Amazon Prime Day, but this is still a good deal on a great grill.
Ninja Woodfire |was $369.99 now $279.98 at Amazon
This deal just dropped by $80 overnight. The Ninja Woodfire actually runs on 1760 Watts of electric power. That means no charcoal, no propane, and no flareups. It's beginner-friendly and apartment-safe. There's space to grill six steaks or 30 hot dogs. You could even smoke a whole brisket in this thing. If you're missing that smoky flavor you usually get from a bigger grill, all you need to do is add half a cup of Ninja Woodfire pellets.
Everdure Force Gas Grill | was $1,199.99, now $629.99 at Amazon
The Everdure Force Gas Grill is an Australian icon. It's pioneered by Heston Blumenthal and comes in a selection of bright or pared-back colors. We enjoy the generous cooking space - nearly 500 square inches - and three independent burners
Black Friday Pizza Oven Deals FAQs
When is Black Friday?
Black Friday is happening right now. All the deals at all the key retailers are live. I predict that right now will see the best prices, because outdoor items like these tend to rise in price over the weekend and Cyber Monday.
Why are pizza ovens so expensive?
Pizza ovens are expensive because they get so hot. They need heavy-duty heatproof materials like cordierite that withstand temperatures twice as high as a convection oven or air fryer. Add in the electronics on top of that, such as inbuilt thermometers, and these can get pretty pricey.
Should I buy a grill over Black Friday?
It depends. You'll find better prices but much worse variety. I haven't included many grill deals here because frankly there aren't many worth including. However, some of the ones I've included have better prices now than they did in the summer sales, including in the July 4th sales.
Final thoughts
While these deals are great, they're far from your only option on Black Friday. If you're still feeling outdoorsy, consider shopping yard furniture over Black Friday, too, because there's similar discounts.
