This Cozy, Chic, and Customizable $69 Comforter Brings Four Seasons of Use – It Will Elevate My Bedroom All Year

It's my top recommendation for guest bedrooms

I'm usually cold at the best of times, but staying warm in bed over winter can be a particular problem for me. Sometimes it feels like no matter how many layers of bedding, hot water bottles, and electric blankets I use, I still feel cold when I get into bed, and often even more so when I wake up.

That's why when I was offered the opportunity to test the Bedsure Gentlesoft 2-in-1 Comforter Set available at Amazon, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

Bedding is always something I've loved investing in, reflected in my rather large collection of linens that I picked up whilst at college, as I feel the right set can truly elevate your sleep space – from the way it looks to the way it feels and how well you sleep.

In the past, I've tried cottons, linens, and brushed fleece finishes, but never anything so unique as the Bedsure Gentlesoft 2-in-1 Comforter Set available at Amazon. There is something so clever about this adjustable way to make bedding feel warmer that I just love. And it looks so good too, particularly if you're into that chic look that you might find in a cozy alpine cabin, perfect for this cold December weather.

The concept of this customizable set is simple. It comes with a pre-washed comforter, which is on the thinner side, and one sumptuously soft, fluffy blanket, which snaps onto the comforter for the colder months, and can easily be removed and stored away come spring and summer.

Easy 'Bottom Right Corner' labels make it simple to make the bed and work out which side corresponds to the same on the comforter, and the seven poppers meant I had my bedding attached and ready for a cold night in a couple of minutes.

The set also comes with two matching fluffy pillowcases and two cotton pillow shams, all of which are OEKO-TEX certified, which means they have been independently tested and verified to be free of more than 300 harmful substances.

I opted for the bedding set in cream white, pictured here, but it's also available in beige, olive green, and black.

Once my bed was made, I literally couldn't wait to get in, read my book, and settle down for the night, and I'm delighted to report that this bedding set really did make me sleep better, even beyond my expectations.

In particular, I was wary about the fleecy, fluffy pillow, which I thought might make me overheat, be uncomfortable, or make my already prone-to-bedhead hair even more unruly.

I wasn't to worry, though, and even after one night I was converted and eating my words. Really, it's no surprise that lying your head on a fluffy surface really does feel luxuriously cozy, and neither my hair nor the usual comfort of my best pillow suffered any negative consequences.

I also didn't have to worry about my blanket slipping off my comforter, being kicked off, or bunching up, causing cold spots, as once snapped together, they stayed in place all night long.

It's also easy to wash, dry, and care for this bed linen, as each layer detaches and fits in standard home washers, and dries in just 60 minutes. As the comforter compresses to half the size of a traditional alternative, it's not tricky and bulky to store, either.

Don't just take it from me, though. One reviewer, LovsCoffee, even goes so far as to say, 'This comforter set may be the most important purchase I have made in my life.'

'I have struggled to find a bed covering that provides fluff, softness, warmth, and is washable for a king-size bed,' they write. 'This one checks all the boxes. I despise duvet covers because I do not enjoy diving headfirst into a cave of fabric, then struggling to find the doo-dad that will attach it to the corners (if they even come with them). Also, the comforters inside are impossible to wash unless you own a washer/dryer that is as big as your garage.

'For the price of this comforter set, are you even serious? I am in love. It is so lightweight that I don't feel like I'm being strangled by a flat bear. Buy it. Do not wait. You will thank me.'

Another, Jennifer Hop 13, deems it her 'perfect' blanket set, adding: 'I have been searching for the perfect blanket ever since the one I have had was discontinued. I came across this when I was searching and was intrigued. I was using four blankets and wanted warmth in [fewer] layers. This idea of a comforter that snaps to a fleece blanket to create what you need for each season was so different that I’ve ever seen before.

'I snapped the two together and put it on my bed, and I was so toasty warm, and the fleece blanket is incredibly soft, as is the comforter. I have slept two nights so far and find myself feeling the fleece. This is a high-quality set, and I am so happy I have found my perfect blanket set.

'If you are looking for cozy, warmth, and softness with a great design where you can use both the blanket and comforter or one or the other to cover all seasons, this is your blanket.'

They also make a brilliant winter companion, but can you wash an electric blanket?
