Your bathroom should feel like a sanctuary away from the rest of the world. It can often be the only place that you can get some time on your own to unwind, so why not make it look and feel amazing?
We spoke to bathroom design expert at Victorian Plumbing, George Holland to find out how to make your bathroom feel more expensive.
If installing a freestanding bath or floor-to-ceiling marble tiles isn’t on the cards right now, George explains that there are still plenty of budget-friendly ways you can make your bathroom feel expensive without breaking the bank.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR BATHROOM LOOK EXPENSIVE
No matter what the shape or size of your bathroom, it’s easy to add style to your space with a few simple tips.
1. UPGRADE SMALL FEATURES
By swapping out small details such as storage, lighting, mirrors or even bath mats, you can take your bathroom from functional to fabulous without having to renovate.

2. INCLUDE A ELEMENT OF LUXE
A nice hand wash, some fluffy towels and a soft bathrobe can make all of the difference. Try decanting your usual hand wash into a dark glass pump dispenser for a touch of sustainable luxury.
3. CHOOSE METALLIC DETAILS
Try swapping your white plastic shower curtain rings for brass, or swap the wooden knobs on your bathroom cabinet for metal, you’ll be surprised at how much of a difference this can make.

4. ADD FRAMED ART
A framed print can really add an extra dimension to your bathroom and add interest to a blank wall. Choose something abstract and full of colour for an instant upgrade.
5. DECANT INTO PRETTY JARS
Forget packets of cotton wool balls and tissues cluttering up your sink. Invest in some lidded glass jars and decant your essentials into them. Add a marble tray and make a feature out of your simple storage solution.
