In the heat of summer, getting yourself a new fan can be a necessity. Whether it's a quiet bedroom fan, a portable fan, or a powerful tower, I've looked through hundreds of listings to find the best places to buy fans at their lowest prices.

As Homes & Gardens' home tech editor, I'm tuned in to what makes a fan work well. I know how the best fans and the best air purifiers can work together to create cooler and cleaner air quality indoors. I've also covered every major sale event since 2021, and am a pro at flushing out the biggest fan deals.

Below, I've collated links to all the biggest and best fan sales, and included the fans to look out for and tips on how to find the lowest prices.

Fan deal tips and tricks

Fans can range in price anywhere from $30 to $1,000. Now, those at the more premium end of this range have suites of features that explain such high price points, like the Dyson Big+Quiet which can purify huge space and project cool, purified air up to 32 feet away, while being one of the quietest fans on the market.

But you don't have to be spending that much on a simple cooling solution. Cheap pedestal and tower fans can still do a great job at cooling you down, even if they don't have strong air flows, speed settings or low noise levels. But you can always combine them with unusual methods for staying cool at home.

I've been testing products since 2021, and shopping for the best deal involves finding the right balance between the features you need and the money you're willing to spend.

Do your research on fan speeds, sleep timers, noise levels, air flows, and smart features, if you need them. Then, shop around for fans that exclusively have the things you need, and you'll start to find a few favorites, whether you're keeping your bed cool in summer or cooling down your kitchen.

Once you know what you're looking for, use price comparison sites like CamelCamelCamel, Honey, and Google Shopping to see how prices have fluctuated throughout the year.

You'll be able to know whether a deal is actually a good deal, rather than a reduction on a hiked-up price, and you can compare prices across multiple sites to see where it's cheapest. You'll also know whether it's the lowest price it's ever been, so you know it's the best fan deal you could've found.

When is the best time to shop for a fan deal?

For the most part, finding the right time for a fan deal is similar to shopping for any appliance, like browsing the best Dyson deals or the best air fryer deals, except there's an element of seasonality with fans.

Brands will often hike prices when summer comes around as there's a higher demand, so as weird it sounds, you'll most likely be better off shopping for fan deals during the winter.

That said, there are plenty of sale seasons throughout the year, even in spring and summer, where you can find a discounted fan to beat the heat.

Amazon Prime Day fan deals

This year, Prime Day is landing on July 8-11, giving us a rare 96 hours to shop. We'll be covering every home deal we can find over at our Amazon Prime Day hub.

Prime Day is a perfect time to grab discounts on any products, especially fans. And as there are now two Prime Days a year, one in October and one in July, you can be sure that Amazon will be slashing prices on affordable cooling products even during the summer.

When shopping during Prime Day, make sure to check elsewhere. Other retailers like Walmart and Target have launched competing sales during the past few Prime Days.

Labor Day fan deals

Around the Labor Day weekend in September, we see discounts from all the major retailers every year. As these sales arrive towards the end of summer (Labor Day will be on September 1 this year), retailers will be clearing their seasonal stock, so you can expect some of the biggest discounts of the year around this time, even if it feels odd shopping for a fan as summer ends.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday fan deals

Of course, Black Friday and Cyber Monday is an amazing chance to see huge discounts on some of the best fans on the market, to prepare yourself when it comes to keeping your house cool during a heatwave when summer rolls back around.

It's also where you'll see the most choice, as more brands and retailers engage with Black Friday than any other sale event. This year, Black Friday will fall on November 28 with Cyber Monday on November 31.

Memorial Day fan deals

Every year, when Memorial Day comes around, brands and major retailers launch massive discounts on appliances, including fans. Memorial Day falls on May 26 this year, and as that's not too far away, we're already seeing discounts on great fans. These appliances are one of the fastest ways to cool a house and are worth investing in.
