Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' warming kitchen colors will dominate trends in 2024, say experts
As expected, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' kitchen is gorgeous – and these two designer-approved materials feature heavily
Natural materials like wood, stone, and marble have been gaining traction in design over the past several years. Rebelling against the push towards all-white minimalism, these substances are steadfast in their celebration of complex texture, visual intricacy, and cozy, comforting colors. The warmth of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' kitchen perfectly embodies why these materials became so popular.
The power couple's kitchen idea is a practical celebration of natural materials. Their walls are gray, unpolished stone bricks. Their furnishings are made of unfinished wood. Their kitchen island, where Ryan is pictured signing materials for his soccer team, is topped with a matte, charcoal-gray slab of stone.
All of these earthen materials have beautiful lustrous textures that add depth and coziness to the space. The juxtaposition of the smooth kitchen island with the rougher rock walls creates a gorgeous visual contrast. A more underrated element of these materials' beauty is the colors they bring into Reynolds' and Lively's home.

'The natural color palette is a huge interior design trend for 2024,' says Jennifer Ebert, color expert and digital editor at Homes & Gardens. She continues, 'With the rise in popularity of natural materials, we've seen a simultaneous leap in the use of a warm neutral scheme associated with those materials. A combination of warm grays, tan, beige, and brown are overtaking white as the leading neutral shades.'

She continues, 'These shades look especially stylish in Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' neutral kitchen. The warm gray of the stone is incredibly inviting, made even more so by the orangey light cast from the couple's rustic modern hanging lights. The cast of these lamps off of the reflective surfaces of the natural materials in the room almost makes it look like it's lit by a fire, providing an ultra-cozy feel.
