Forget the madness, the big news this Black Friday is Le Creuset's pumpkin casserole dish...

Stop the press: Le Creuset is selling this pumpkin casserole dish that is a cuter and far more tasteful take on its Star Wars roasting dish – that's worth a peek, by the way, just to see what it looks like. Let's just say we find it somewhat disturbing.

Yes, amongst the madness of searching for Le Creuset Black Friday deals (and there are a ton of them, by the way), we found this little beauty – and it's gone straight to the top of our Christmas gift list!

Just one of a range of pumpkin dishes from Le Creuset available in the US and the UK (happily, since my gift list stretches across both sides of the pond), it comes in this cool cream... although the entire range does include the classic orange – and there are Le Creuset pumpkin plates in both colorways, too.

Without a doubt, the signature orange (flame) color is Le Creuset's most popular. However, anyone browsing the net – or lucky enough to have a Le Creuset shop in their neighborhood (H&G is in that category) will know that there is a range of beautiful colors to choose from – in fact, over 100.

Flame has always been the most popular Le Creuset color and is loved by professional chefs and cooks, too, from Julia Child to Nigella Lawson.

Why are Le Creuset so expensive?

Le Creuset's products are made from cast iron – you will notice how heavy and sturdy they feel when you pick them up. This cast iron is not recycled from other materials – ever – and is of the highest quality.

You can of course buy Le Creuset lookalikes for much lower prices, but they are likely to have been made from recycled metal which will be weaker that Le Creuset products, and won't last as long.

If you want a product that will last a lifetime, look to Le Creuset.
