This is how to save $100s on a brand-new Dyson to transform your home

Dyson’s reputation for exceptional engineering is well earned. From powerful vacuums to whisper-quiet fans and cutting-edge hair tools, the British brand continues to set the standard for design-led innovation in the home.

As someone who tests vacuums professionally, I can confirm that Dyson machines consistently rank among the very best – but that level of performance often comes with a premium price tag.

Recently, Dyson has quietly raised prices across its US website, likely in response to evolving import tariffs. That’s why now, more than ever, knowing where and how to find the best Dyson vacuums can make all the difference – saving you hundreds on what would otherwise be a significant investment.

The next major savings event is Labor Day (September 1), but if you’re looking to buy sooner, there are already standout offers available. Below, I’ve curated the best Dyson deals live this August, along with trusted retailers offering discounts – and smart shopping tips to help you get the most value for your money.

Where to shop Dyson deals in August 2025

July brought with it the blockbuster four-day Amazon Prime Day event, along with competitive sales from Walmart and Best Buy – but the savings haven’t stopped there.

Below, we’ve rounded up the best places to shop discounted Dyson vacuums, fans, purifiers, and hair tools right now.

Dyson V15 Detect | was $799.99, now $599.99 at Dyson (save $150)
Homes & Gardens favorite

Dyson V15 Detect | was $799.99, now $599.99 at Dyson (save $150)

If you've read our Dyson V15 Detect review, you'll know it's one of our favorite vacuums we've ever tested. This incredibly powerful cordless vacuum can pick up pretty much any type of debris, regardless of the floor type.

The V15 senses how much dust it's picking up and can increase the suction power when necessary. It features a green laser that illuminates dust that the naked eye can't see, and you get two floorheads for specialized cleaning across different surfaces.

Right now, the Dyson V15 Detect is at one of the lowest prices I have ever seen.

Dyson V8 | was $519.99, now $359.99 at Dyson (save $160)
Best value

Dyson V8 | was $519.99, now $359.99 at Dyson (save $160)

We've reviewed the Dyson V8, one of Dyson's more affordable models, and were surprised by its strong performance even five years after its release. It's our pick for the best budget Dyson regardless, but with this $170 discount, it's even more affordable.

The V8 has a 40-minute runtime and powerful suction, even without Dyson's latest detection technology. The Dyson V8 comes with all the attachments too, like the crevice, combination, and brush tools.

Dyson V12 Detect Slim | was $679.99, now $549.98 at QVC (save $130.01)
Lightweight excellence

Dyson V12 Detect Slim | was $679.99, now $549.98 at QVC (save $130.01)

The little sister version of our top-rated vacuums (the Dyson V15 Detect and Gen5detect), the V12 Detect Slim features the same laser technology we love, with a slightly smaller dustbin and easier power operation (a single button rather than a trigger).

In my Dyson V12 Detect Slim review, I learned that it's not far off the cleaning power of the more expensive models, picking up debris and dust (and hair!) of all sizes.

Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde TP09 | was $749.99, now $530.89 at Amazon (save $219.10)
Premium cooling

Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde TP09 | was $749.99, now $530.89 at Amazon (save $219.10)

A beautiful mix of nickel and gold, this sleek air purifier doubles up as a quiet, bladeless fan for whole-room cooling. In my Dyson TP09 review, I loved its effective purification, strong air flow, and comprehensive air quality monitoring. It cools down a room impressively fast.

Dyson Airwrap (Restored) | was $499.99, now $379.99 at Walmart (save $120)
Greater savings

Dyson Airwrap (Restored) | was $499.99, now $379.99 at Walmart (save $120)

To really save money on a Dyson deal, consider shopping for refurbished goods such as this Restored Dyson Airwrap at Walmart. It does all the same things as a brand-new one, instead using recycled materials and refurbished parts to give new life to old electronics.

Our favorite Dyson products

Whenever sale season rolls around, these are the Dyson products I keep an eye on. They’ve performed exceptionally well in our tests and offer some of the most practical features on the market. Given their premium price tags, I always suggest holding out for a deal, and fortunately, they go on offer regularly.

Dyson deal tips and tricks

Having covered every major sales event since 2021, I’ve learned exactly how to spot a genuine deal – and how to avoid getting swept up in flashy markdowns that aren’t what they seem. Retailers often ramp up prices in the weeks before major events like Black Friday (late November) or Prime Day (July and October), only to drop them again to make discounts look steeper than they really are.

That’s why I always check price history before I buy, especially when shopping for premium items like Dyson vacuums. Two free tools I rely on are Honey and CamelCamelCamel.

Honey is a browser extension that shows price comparisons across multiple retailers – and it works even without installing the app. It also tracks pricing over the past 120 days, so you can quickly tell whether a deal is genuinely worth it or simply dressed up for the occasion. CamelCamelCamel works exclusively for Amazon, offering a full price history for any item. This is especially helpful for Dyson products, letting you know whether the price you're seeing is the lowest ever, or just temporarily marked down.

Top tip: Dyson often releases multiple versions of the same model (like the V15 Detect Absolute vs. the V15 Detect Plus). These often come with different attachments, so before you commit, double-check you're getting the version that best suits your home, and that you’re paying the best price for it.

The smartest Black Friday strategy? Do your research early. Know what model you want, what attachments you need, and what price it usually sells for. That way, when the big sale days hit, you can buy with confidence and without regret.

How to choose a Dyson vacuum

A general rule with Dyson vacuums is: the more expensive, the better it is. As Dyson's releases tend to be an upgrade to the previous, you can tell that the V15 Detect is better than the V12 Detect Slim, which is better than the V11, which is better than the V8, and so on.

The best Dyson vacuum of all is the Gen5detect (and the Gen5outsize, the larger version), and that's where you'll find the most advanced tech. It has the strongest suction power and smart features like particle sensors, dust and floor detection, and a green laser to illuminate invisible dust on the floor.

This detection technology senses what's on your floors and automatically adjusts the suction when more is needed (like when you get to a particularly dusty part of the floor or move onto carpet).

The Gen5detect is also the only vacuum that's compatible with Dyson CleanTrace – a smartphone software that shows you where you have and haven't vacuumed.

But the Gen5detect is wildly expensive. You can find the same smart features in the V15 Detect and the V12 Detect Slim, but they just offer slightly decreased suction power. All three vacuums share the same attachments, too, with dedicated floorheads for carpets and hard floors.

On test, all three performed flawlessly with whatever mess we threw at them. Sure, the Gen5detect was the best, but when you consider that it costs $100s more just for a slight increase in power, it might be smarter to save your money and opt for the V15 Detect or V12 Detect Slim instead.

I use the V12 Detect Slim myself, and I never feel like any cleaning power is missing.

Then, the V11 is the next step down. It still has different suction modes like the above vacuums, but you have to manually select them yourself, as it doesn't have the automatic detection tech. If you're looking for a powerful cordless vacuum but don't need fancy features, I recommend saving your money and choosing the V11.

If you're on a budget, the V8 is what you need. It has suction power you can rely on in Dyson's classic, easy-to-use design.

Not looking for a cordless vacuum? The Ball Animal 3 is their best upright, the 360 Vis Nav is their best robot, and the Big Ball Turbine Head is their best canister. But really, their cordless vacuums are their best.

What is a good price for a Dyson?

It's hard to say what a 'good' price is for a Dyson, as their vacuums range from $300 to $1,000. First, you need to figure out what model (or models) you're on the lookout for using the handy guide above, then comes the part of knowing if you've found a good price.

The best discounts I've ever seen on Dyson's bests were during Black Friday 2024, with $300 off both the V12 Detect Slim and V15 Detect. These are the lowest prices they've ever been, so if you can find something similar when you're shopping for deals, then you know you've found a gem.

But generally, anywhere from $150 to $250 is a decent reduction, and you should consider buying if your vacuum of choice is discounted by that much.

If you're seeing a deal of just $100 off, this will usually be a common price. Often, retailers will include a mention of small discounts like $100 to appear like a saving, but really, that price will be available for most of the year. Use the tools Honey and CamelCamelCamel that I mentioned above to know whether yours is a genuine discount.

When's a good time to get a Dyson deal?

As somebody who writes almost exclusively about vacuums, I can confirm that Dyson vacuums are discounted quite often. Whether it's a Spring sale, Black Friday, or Prime Day, I'm regularly seeing some of their best models on offer, sometimes at some of their best prices yet. For this reason, I'd never recommend buying a Dyson at full price.

A benefit of having countless online stores is that they're often competing with each other for the lowest prices, and if you know how to look, you can find a good Dyson deal outside of the big sales. That being said, there's no denying what the major sale seasons can bring, especially in terms of choice.

Labor Day Dyson deals

Labor Day falls on Monday, September 1, and every year we see discounts from all the major retailers, and the sales will likely last for the week before and after the big day.

Last year, Dyson launched a Labor Day sale that included savings of $200+ on some of our favorite vacuums. If you missed the first Prime Day and can't wait until the second, this is a great chance to grab a Dyson deal.

Amazon Prime Day Dyson deals

Amazon's most recent Prime Day wrapped up on July 11, but as we've seen over the past few years, there will almost definitely be a second Prime Day in October 2025.

It's a hugely reliable time to find a discounted Dyson product, whether you're looking for vacuums, purifiers, or hair goods. Amazon has such a wide range of products that you'll typically find one of their best on offer, and usually with a sizable discount.

If looking during Prime Day, however, make sure to check elsewhere. Other retailers like Walmart and Target will launch competing sales, as well as Dyson themselves.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Dyson deals

Black Friday falls on November 28 this year, with Cyber Monday following on December 1 – marking the most anticipated shopping window of the year. Traditionally a single-day event, Black Friday has since evolved into a multi-week affair. In fact, Dyson and other major brands have already begun teasing early deals weeks ahead of schedule.

If you're considering investing in a new appliance, now is the time to plan. As someone who’s tracked sales events and deal trends for over three years, I’ve learned that while Black Friday and Cyber Monday tend to offer the widest range of discounts, they don’t always deliver the deepest price cuts. Some of the best Dyson deals I’ve seen have actually appeared during Prime Day, Labor Day, or as surprise markdowns in quieter months.

That said, the September-to-December window is consistently strong for shoppers. It’s during this time that retailers start clearing out inventory to make way for upcoming product launches – often resulting in excellent savings on best-selling appliances, vacuums, and more. So, whether you're eyeing a top-of-the-line Dyson or a seasonal upgrade to your cleaning routine, keep a close watch – these weeks can offer remarkable value.

Boxing Day and New Year's Day Dyson deals

Don’t overlook the post-holiday sales – January can be one of the best times to score a deal on a Dyson. Just as brands and retailers begin to clear out stock in the lead-up to the holidays, the same inventory reset happens after Christmas.

That means New Year’s sales, winter clearance events, and post-holiday promotions often bring generous discounts on high-ticket appliances.

Whether it’s directly from Dyson or a trusted retailer, this quieter shopping period can be a golden opportunity to find a top-rated vacuum or fan at a significantly reduced price.

Dyson Spring sales

You can expect to see sales across major retailers as the weather starts to get warmer. The big push for spring cleaning is a great chance for brands to sell off their cleaning appliances, so keep a lookout for any discounts around this time.

Memorial Day Dyson deals

Each year, Memorial Day ushers in some of the biggest appliance discounts of the season – and Dyson is no exception. Falling on May 26 in 2026, the holiday is set to bring serious savings, both from major retailers and Dyson itself.

Based on previous years, there’s a strong chance we’ll see a site-wide sale from the brand, making it an ideal time to invest in one of their top-performing vacuums or fans at a lower price.
