Smeg kettles are is loved for their retro aesthetic. Channeling 1950s chic, it is available in a range of bold and pastel colors including sleek black and bright red, cool mint green and soft baby pink – though like Reese, we love the white. Each kettle is finished with generous chrome detailing on its handles, base, and logo, bringing a reflective quality that pulls the whole look together.
However, there is a lot more to this kettle than just its good looks, it has a lot of invaluable features too. With a capacity of 1.7 liters, the kettle is able to comfortably hold enough water for seven cups, meaning that you don't have to worry about repeat boils, regardless of whether you are brewing tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.
If you are a tea connoisseur, you might want to consider investing in the KLF04 model which features seven variable temperature settings to ensure that you always have the perfect brew. However, if you simply want reliable boiling water for your teas or coffees, then the KLF03 will not disappoint – it is designed to boil 500ml of water in just one and a half minutes.
The KLF03 also features a removable limescale filter – and as such is one of the best hard water kettles. The filter will extend the lifespan of the kettle, ensure good energy efficiency and prevent disgusting limescale from ending up in your mug.
Safety is also a vital concern when buying any piece of electric kitchen gadget but this is even more important when it is one that is going to hold water. The Smeg has an auto shut-off at 212°F preventing the kettle from overheating or boiling dry.
