Dyson Just Dropped the Price of Its Flagship Cordless Vacuum by Another $50 for Cyber Week – It’s the Lowest Price All Year
After testing 31 vacuum cleaners, this is the one I use at home
Dyson vacuums are renowned as some of the best in the world, and as our thousands of hours of testing have proven, they truly outperform almost every other brand. But that's precisely why they're so expensive.
Grabbing a cleaning appliance during Cyber Week (the days after Cyber Monday when deals linger, and new ones are added) is a smart move, especially when the Dyson V15 Detect is now discounted to $499.99. That's the lowest price it's been all year and $50 cheaper than it was for Black Friday.
So if you were waiting for even lower prices, congratulations, you nailed the timing. This Dyson is singlehandedly the best cordless vacuum we've ever tested, and I'm thrilled to see it at such a low price, so that more people can enjoy such easy cleaning.
Dyson V15 Detect | was $849.99, now $499.99 at Dyson (save $350)
It reveals invisible dust using a green laser, adapts suction to your floors, and picks up every kind of mess in virtually one pass. Its suction power is incredible, and will make cleaning easier tenfold.

The Dyson V15 Detect Hasn't Been This Affordable All Year
If you've read much of my content at Homes & Gardens, you'll know just how highly I rate this vacuum cleaner. I've spent over 300 hours testing vacuums over the past two years, and the V15 Detect is the only one I've continued to use at home.
That's because it's powerful – really powerful – with all the convenience of a cordless stick. No plugging in power cords or lugging a huge, heavy appliance out from wherever you store your vacuum.
It's lightweight enough to hold with one hand, and it takes up virtually no space when not in use. It also has smart features such as automatically adapting suction to your floors, and a green laser that reveals dust that your eyes can't pick up (as seen in the above video).
This is why it's one of the best vacuums we've tested, and why Dyson typically charges so much for it. You'd never expect such a slim device to boast such tremendous suction power, and it's packed with innovation that other brands like Shark and Dreame have brought into their own designs.
During testing, it picked everything up in one forward pass. This includes fur (hence why it's among our best vacuums for pet hair), dust, and large debris like food crumbs.
Using floor sensors, the V15 Detect can recognize whether you're vacuuming carpet or hard floors, and when you're cleaning up a particularly dirty area. With this information, it automatically increases or lowers the suction, giving you extra oomph when you need it, and preserving the battery life when you don't.
I've tested 31 vacuum cleaners during my time as Homes & Gardens' home tech editor – spanning all types of vacuums from all the leading brands – and the V15 Detect continues to be my favorite. It's the only one I use at home as it's simply so convenient to grab it and clean whenever I feel the need to.
And because you can clean up small messes so quickly, it reduces how often you need to do weekly deep house cleans. I often quickly vacuum while I'm waiting for my food to finish cooking, or even during an advert break when I'm watching TV.
This marrying of cleaning power, convenience, and innovative design has resulted in the V15 Detect topping many of our vacuum guides time and time again. It's also why it's so rare to see it discounted to this low of a price, so I'm telling everyone so they can start enjoying cleaning as much as I do.
The Dyson V15 Detect is now discounted to $499.99 for Cyber Week, its lowest price all year.
More to Shop
My testing team and I have reviewed 87 of the world's most effective vacuum cleaners, and luckily, plenty more of them are on offer during Cyber Week.
All prices correct at time of publication.
The smaller, lighter version of the V15 Detect, the V12 Detect Slim has the same dust-revealing smart features, just packaged into a slimmer model. It used to be my main vacuum at home until I upgraded to the V15 Detect, and it's also at its lowest price all year.

Or, for $50 less than the V12 Detect Slim, the Dyson V11 has stronger suction but none of the 'Detect' smart features. If you can get by without the frills, this is the strongest cordless Dyson there is, but it's not as powerful as the V15 Detect.

Another 'lowest price all year', but this time from Shark on our top choice for the best Dyson alternative. It's designed differently from the Dyson V15 Detect, most notably with its floorhead that cleans both carpets and hard floors without having to swap them out.

Going almost like-for-like with Dyson's vacuums in terms of features, the Dreame R20 has a dust-revealing laser, automatic suction, and dedicated attachments for different floors. Its suction isn't quite as strong, but on test it still did a great job at cleaning every type of mess, if just a bit slower.

Another of our favorite alternatives to expensive Dysons, the Levoit LVAC-300 has similar features and great performance on fur. It has never wrapped with hair in the six months my friend has been using it.

The Dyson V15 Detect and the Shark POWERDETECT Upright are two of our favorite vacuum cleaners on test. While the V15 Detect is cordless and convenient, the Shark POWERDETECT Upright is perfect for bigger homes, with a bigger dustbin and relentless suction for messier floors.
