The best robot vacuums do a lot of the home cleaning for you, saving time and effort thanks to frequent runs of your floors. They're relatively new inventions so they're not always the cheapest, but if you find the right deal you can get some premium home tech for a decent price.

When is a good time to find a vacuum deal?

There's always a vacuum deal on offer. Vacuums are sold in so many places by so many people, you’ll be able to find at least one appealing model on offer, whether it’s recommended by us, or researched by you. The big sales events, such as Memorial Day, July 4th, Black Friday, and Prime Day, as well as the current Amazon Prime Big Deal Day are likely to offer you the most significant savings because this is when places such as Amazon can go crazy with savings.

However, it’s worth keeping an eye on pages like this all year round. Specific retailers will have special sales events, such as Wayfair’s Wayday, and places such as Dyson release refurbished models pretty regularly. These are all savvy ways to pick up a good vacuum deal outside of the bigger events.

Will there be discounts on vacuums on Prime Day?

Yes, without a doubt. Every year, Prime Day (usually in July) gives us some of the biggest vacuum discounts we see all year, with only Black Friday offering anything similar. Amazon stocks a lot of the major brands (like Dyson, Shark, iRobot, Samsung - you name it), and each year some of the brands' best models get pretty sizeable reductions.

Currently, Amazon Prime Day 2, called Amazon Prime Big Deal Day is on and running till 9 October.

Why are Dyson vacuums so expensive?

Dysons are so expensive because they're the best. They have laser and particle tech that other vacuums can't match, and they remove more dirt than any other vacuum. However, if you're on a budget you're better off with a cheaper model as these features, while helpful, aren't necessary.

Are cordless vacuums worth buying?

Yes, cordless vacuums are worth buying. They're much more comfortable and easier to use than corded vacuums, and these days they're almost as powerful. The only thing with cordless vacuums is remembering to keep them charged up.
