As essential as they are, the best vacuum cleaners are unfortunately not as cheap as we'd like them to be. Sure, there are plenty of available options under $150 or so, but they never tend to do a good job of actually cleaning.

To own a vacuum cleaner that'll properly tackle your floors, you'll need to be willing to part with a bit of cash (the best ones can cost upwards of $600!). But, luckily, throughout the year are various sale events that'll see even some of the best vacuums and top-of-the-line models discounted by hundreds.

As H&G's home tech editor (and a self-professed clean freak), I take vacuuming seriously. Myself and a team of dedicated experts test and review the best vacuums on the market. So, we know what makes the best cordless vacuums the best, or how to spot the best vacuum for pet hair, and we definitely know how to separate a good deal from exaggerated marketing promises.

I've collated the best vacuum deals you can find online, with links for all the sales you can currently browse.

After searching through them all, these are the best vacuum deals available online. I've selected deals that offer both good value for money and a good product - everything listed here, I'd use myself.

BISSELL ICONpet Turbo Vacuum | was $365.64, now $179.99 at Amazon (save 51%)

BISSELL ICONpet Turbo Vacuum | was $365.64, now $179.99 at Amazon (save 51%)

The ICONpet Turbo from BISSELL has all the features of a premium cordless stick vacuum. LED headlights reveal dust on the floor, an anti-tangle brushroll helps to prevent hair wrap, and a turbo boost mode provides extra suction power when you need it. But the vacuum is more reasonably priced than the Dysons and Sharks, and now you can get it for less than half price.

I'd be surprised to find a better cordless vacuum for under $180.

Tineco Floor ONE S7 PRO Smart Cordless Floor Cleaner | was $799, now $489 at Amazon (save $310)

Tineco Floor ONE S7 PRO Smart Cordless Floor Cleaner | was $799, now $489 at Amazon (save $310)

The Floor ONE S7 PRO is the perfect choice for deep cleaning your floors. Using continuous fresh water washing, it can clear away wet messes into a separate dirty water tank, while still being able to vacuum debris like any cordless vacuum.

Dyson V15s Detect Submarine | was $949.99, now $879.99 at Amazon (save $70)

Dyson V15s Detect Submarine | was $949.99, now $879.99 at Amazon (save $70)

The V15s Detect is a fusion of the Dyson V15 Detect with a hard floor washer, able to pick up both wet and dry messes. It comes with a 'submarine' floor head that cleans liquids, debris, and stains, using clean water from start to finish. It's a little more expensive, but the V15s Detect Submarine has all the features of Dyson's best vacuum cleaner, with a mop that works impressively well.

Vacuum FAQs

When is a good time to find a vacuum deal?

You can trust Homes & Gardens. Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing the latest products, helping you choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test.

Our experts reckon that there’s always a vacuum deal on offer. Vacuums are sold in so many places by so many people, you’ll be able to find at least one appealing model on offer, whether it’s recommended by us, or researched by you. The big sales events, such as Memorial Day, July 4th, Black Friday, and Prime Day are likely to offer you the most significant savings because this is when places such as Amazon can go crazy with savings.

However, it’s worth keeping an eye on pages like this all year round. Specific retailers will have special sales events, such as Wayfair’s Wayday, and places such as Dyson release refurbished models pretty regularly. These are all savvy ways to pick up a good vacuum deal outside of the bigger events.

Will there be discounts on vacuums on Prime Day?

Yes, without a doubt. Every year, Prime Day gives us some of the biggest vacuum discounts we see all year, with only Black Friday offering anything similar. Amazon stocks a lot of the major brands (like Dyson, Shark, iRobot, Samsung - you name it), and each year some of the brands' best models get pretty sizeable reductions.

This year, we can expect to see Prime Day land in mid-July, as it does every year.

Why are Dyson vacuums so expensive?

Dysons are so expensive because they're the best. They have laser and particle tech that other vacuums can't match, and they remove more dirt than any other vacuum. However, if you're on a budget you're better off with a cheaper model as these features, while helpful, aren't necessary.

Are cordless vacuums worth buying?

Yes, cordless vacuums are worth buying. They're much more comfortable and easier to use than corded vacuums, and these days they're almost as powerful. The only thing with cordless vacuums is remembering to keep them charged up.

If you're on the hunt for the best vacuum deals, it might be worth learning how shark vs dyson vacuums compare, to see which will be best for your home.

And if you're looking to make your cleaning a little easier, find out whether robot vacuums are really worth it, too.
