Say Goodbye to Vacuum Dust Blowback with the Powerful Shark Cordless That Locks Away Allergens and Self-Empties – It’s $150 Cheaper Right Now
The Shark PowerDetect Cordless' dust bin seals particles away for up to two months and self empties
Finishing a cleaning session, then having to empty the vacuum – and risk getting dust blown back into your face and all over your clothes – is a nuisance most of us are all too familiar with.
Not only that, but if you empty your vacuum into an indoor trash can, you risk re-releasing the allergens you just vacuumed back into your space. That's why I love sharing the benefits of the Shark PowerDetect Cordless, which is also discounted by $150 right now, as it solves this issue.
It stores dust inside a HEPA-sealed container for over a month, drastically reducing your exposure to allergens and reducing how often you need to empty it yourself. Plus, it's one of the best vacuums we've tested.

The Shark PowerDetect Cordless cleans effortlessly, from bare floors to thick carpets.
The Shark PowerDetect Cordless is an outstanding vacuum by itself – one of the best cordless vacuums we've tested, in fact – with the added benefit of storing your household's dust for up to six weeks.
It's an effortless vacuum to use. It seamlessly passes from carpets to hard floors with its dual brushrolls and intelligent floor sensors, and its suction is strong enough to clean everything from dust to pet hair in seconds.
It's also a neat way to store your vacuum, as unlike the best upright vacuums, cordless sticks don't usually stand up by themselves. The Shark PowerDetect Cordless has a somewhat stylish design (as stylish as a vacuum cleaner be...), so it doesn't hurt to have it on show.
As soon as you place the vacuum on the dock, it will start self-emptying and charging, ready for the next use. It locks away 99.97% of allergens – without this, you risk them becoming airborne as they're released into your home, which will result in allergy symptoms unless you have one of the best air purifiers.
Design expertise in your inbox – from inspiring decorating ideas and beautiful celebrity homes to practical gardening advice and shopping round-ups.
And as the dust, debris, and hair are forcibly sucked out of the vacuum, it actually cleans the vacuum more than if you were emptying it by hand.
This results in an appliance that's kept in better condition, as the dust particles that can erode the internal parts are pulled right out of the appliance, from the dustbin all the way down to the floorhead. This improves its lifespan and protects against loss of suction as there are fewer chances for the airways to become obstructed.
The Shark PowerDetect Cordless bends, allowing you to clean under furniture without straining your back.
The nifty cordless stick also bends at the wand, meaning you can reach far under furniture without having to strain your back. It's an effortless motion: Press the latch to release it, then pull up to snap it back into place.
Tester James Holland put the vacuum through its paces in his home with a heavily-shedding cat, and the PowerDetect Cordless had no issues vacuuming fur, even from thick carpets. It's one of the best vacuums for pet hair if you're looking for cordless convenience.
It also has a 70-minute runtime – longer than the typical 50-60 minutes for a cordless stick – and detects the floor type you're cleaning to automatically optimize the suction. It's intuitive, taking away the guesswork and making adjustments in the background while you clean.
Forget Black Friday – if you've been waiting for the right moment to upgrade your floorcare, look no further.
The Shark PowerDetect Cordless is discounted by $150 at SharkNinja for a limited time.

Although this is a stellar deal, it doesn't hurt to shop around, so here are a few more of our favorites after our rigorous testing sessions. They don't have the Shark's unique Clean & Empty System, but hold their own in other great ways.

For the same price as the Shark, this Dyson boasts higher suction and a deeper clean, particularly on carpets and pet hair. It doesn't have any floor sensors for automatic power adjustments, but it's easily one of the most effective cleaners we've ever tested.

In many ways, the Shark PowerDetect Cordless is modeled off the Dyson V15 Detect, which innovated the vacuum market with floor sensors and flawless suction and continues to be the best in every way. It's the only vacuum I use in my own home after testing 28 for Homes & Gardens.

If your home has no carpets or rugs (or, only very thin rugs), this budget cordless from Ultenic is really all you need. It's great on hard floors, has a green laser that reveals hidden dust like a Dyson, and costs under $200.

If you'd prefer to have dedicated floorheads for different surfaces – a bristled one for carpets and a soft one for hard floors – the Levoit LVAC-300 takes a page out of Dyson's book to provide specialized cleaning.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the cleaning gadget that has dramatically reduced how much time I spend on chores. The Dreame H14 Pro vacuums, mops, and removes stains all at once, leaves the floors dry a couple minutes later, then cleans itself at the station. It's honestly amazing.
