Amy Cutmore is Editor in Chief of Audience across Future's Homes portfolio. She's been working with Homes & Gardens since 2019 – first as Group Digital Editor and now her current role, creating and informing content to inspire anyone making their home their own.
A winner of the AOP's Digital Content Leader of the Year, she is an expert on what makes in informative and inspiring interiors article – she's especially excited when she gets to write about kitchen renovations and technology. For many years, she was Ideal Home's Girl About Tech, where she enlightened readers on the differences between UHD and LED, gave the low-down on the coolest fridge freezers and offered essential tips on how to improve a WiFi connection. While other people count how many countries they've visited, Amy tots up how many countries' washing machine factories she's toured (it's eight by the way, from South Korea to Slovenia). She can't leave the house without a decent pair of noise-cancelling headphones, and struggles with the question 'which do you love more, your husband or your KitchenAid?'
Amy rents out several properties, and is always on hand with advice for tenants and landlords alike. She's just started renovating her Victorian home, adding a two-storey extension and insulating throughout. It's given her plenty of fuel for the day job – expect an article on moving drainage access any time now! While she decorates her rental properties in a neutral Scandi-influenced style, her own home is bolder and more indulgent. She loves deep blue and green walls, Boråstapeter (opens in new tab) wallpaper, brass accessories and velvet upholstery. No room is complete without a bit of old wooden furniture, and a tray of scented candles.
