I found some huge deals in the Amazon New Year sales – better than Black Friday
Some of the Amazon New Year sales are the best I've seen all year.
New Year sales have a poor reputation. After all the chaos of Black Friday a few weeks ago they seem like yet another shot of consumerism; another way big retailers to get you on the hook.
I assumed that would be the the case with lots of the products on offer in the Amazon New Year sales. But when I cross-referenced them against some of the prices we saw on Black Friday, I found that some of these prices are actually better, including deals on big brands like Dyson.
After working my way through thousands of offers on the best air fryers, stand mixers, and vacuum cleaners, these are the only ones actually worth your money.
What's on sale?
If you want to jump straight to the deals, here's what's on offer:
- Amazon air fryer deals: save on Ninja, Cosori
- Amazon juicer deals: up to 20% off
- Amazon food processor deals: save on Nutribullet
- Amazon blender deals: save on Magic Bullet, Vitamix
- Amazon vacuum cleaner deals: save on Dyson, Shark
- Amazon bedding deals: save on sheets
My favorites
Ultenic U12 Vesla Cordless Vacuum | Was $239.99, now $199.99 at Amazon
We tested just the other week. Sure, it's eerily similar to a Dyson, though it's not quite as good as the real thing. However, on test we found that this lightweight little vacuum more than does the job. If you aren't that bothered by all the bells and whistles of a top-line Dyson, I'd just buy this.
Martha Stewart Sheet Set | Was $54.99, now $39.99 on Amazon
I don't normally recommend cheap sheets, but this set from Martha Stewart offers that luxury feel for less. We just got done testing them, and they perform exceptionally well at their price point. They're soft and come in a range of colors, and wash well, too. You'll definitely find cheaper on Amazon, but take my advice: don't go there. This is about the lowest you could spend on sheets and still get a quality set.
Ninja AF101 Air Fryer | Was $129.99, now $99.99 at Amazon
This compact little air fryer is incredibly fast and excels at cooking at high temperatures. On test, we thought it did a particularly good job at cooking frozen food. It was a better price a few days ago, but this is still a good deal.

Ninja AF101 Air Fryer | Was $129.99, now $99.99 at Amazon
Thanks to a 5-quart capacity, the Ninja AF101 Air Fryer features more than enough space to cook a wide variety of meals. There's even an auto shut-off function, so you'll never have to worry you left the oven on.
Bodum Chambord French Press, 51 Ounce| Was $66, now $33.49 at Amazon
This deal keeps on dropping by a dollar or two each day. The Bodum Chambord is one of the most iconic French Presses out there. The timeless design uses a glass carafe that sits snugly in a stainless steel frame, making it less likely to break than most glass counterparts, and undoubtedly produces an unrivalled cup of coffee.
Dobby Stripe Comforter Set | Was $64.99, now $39.75 on Amazon
This eight-piece comforter set is a bed in a bag. As well as a plush comforter, you get two pillowcases with matching shams, a fitted and a flat sheet, and even a bed skirt thrown in. Since each piece is hypoallergenic, this set is perfect for sensitive sleepers, and it's available in lots of colors to suit any bedroom color palette.
Utopia Bedding Queen Bed Sheets Set | Was $29.95, now $19.99 at Amazon
If you're really tight on budget, these sheets from Utopia Bedding could work for you. I'm far from convinced about polyester sheets like these as they can sleep pretty hot and stain easily. But at such a low price, and with hundreds of thousands of positive reviews, it could be worth the risk.
NutriBullet NBJ50200 Juicer Pro | Was $159.99, now $105.59 at Amazon
Top-line juicers start at around the $400 mark. This machine from NutriBullet is up there with the best juicers, but it's budget- and beginner-friendly. It will blast through lots of fruit and vegetables without chopping and there are lots of handy accessories for storing your juice. Fancier juicers are definitely better, but this is a great choice for the average home. It's just dropped back under $100, a better price and it was on Black Friday.
NutriBullet NBP50100 7-Cup Food Processor | Was $119.99, now $79.90 at Amazon
A versatile addition to your kitchen, the NutriBullet NBP50100 7-Cup Food Processor is our best food processor for attachments. This model comes with blade and disc attachments for chopping, slicing, shredding, spiralizing and kneading dough. Short of eating the food for you, there's this little processor can't do.
KitchenAid Cordless 5 Cup Food Chopper KFCB519 | was $99.99, now $79.99 at Amazon
Available in seven different finishes, the KitchenAid Cordless 5 Cup Food Chopper is voted our best cordless food processor. A lightweight, portable model that can be easily transported round the kitchen, enjoy a saving on this versatile, 5-cup design.
Cuisinart Precision Stand Mixer, 500W, Black, SM50BU | Was $249.95, now $199.99 at Amazon
We've argued for years that the Cuisinart Precision is almost as good as the iconic KitchenAid Artisan. Don't tell anyone, but it's actually better for bread doughs. It's usually hundreds of dollars less than the Artisan, and while it's been cheaper, this is still a good price.
KitchenAid Classic 5 Qt. Stand Mixer KSM150PS | Was $329.99, now $239.99 at Amazon
The KitchenAid Classic is the predecessor to the KitchenAid Artisan, and a smart choice if you want a KitchenAid without the price tag. It's not quite as good, but it looks identical. It's rare to see a KitchenAid under $300, so it's well worth considering.
NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender | Was $139.99, now $130.88 on Amazon
This NutriBullet model was already our best budget-friendly blender. Now, it's selling for $10 less. It comes with a 1500-watt motor to create super-smooth blends, as well as a locking lid and a spout for easy pouring.
Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-IQ | Was $219.99, now $189.99 at Amazon
This blender is unbelievably good value: an enormous 72 oz. pitcher combines with a 64 oz. food processor bowl for two functions in one appliance. It also has two 24 oz. blending cups for single-serve drinks to take away. It can easily crush ice and it blends delicious smoothies. It's not the lowest I've seen it but it's still good value.
Best air fryer deals
Ninja Foodi 10 Quart 6-in-1 DualZone XL Air Fryer | Was $249.99, now $193.00 at Amazon
This is the XL version of one of our favorite air fryers. This deal has been better, but you can still grab more than $50 off an excellent family air fryer.
Phillips Essentials XL | Was $199.95, now $171.48 on Amazon
When we tested this, we loved it for so many reasons. It's the easiest model to use thanks to its simple cooking modes. The only thing we could fault was the price, but with 14% off, it's a bargain.
Our Philips Essential Air Fryer XL review has more information.
Instant Vortex Plus Dual Air Fryer | Was $169.95, now $139.95 at Amazon
The Instant Vortex Plus Dual is my pick for the best air fryer for large portions. Two 4qt. baskets combine for a whopping 8qt capacity, so you can cook for the whole family. I love the innovative SyncFinish function, which can cook two different meals at different temperatures and times but make sure they're both finished at exactly the same time. However, this deal was better on Black Friday.
Instant Omni Air Fryer Toaster Oven| Was $199.95, now $181.26 at Amazon
The spacious Instant Omni Air Fryer toaster oven can fits a 12" Pizza, 6 Slices of Bread, or a whole chicken. It's preheats pretty quickly and multi-functions with tons of cooking modes: air fry, broil, bake, roast, toast, warm, and convection. Use the Instant App for access to over 100 recipes.
Instant Pot Pro Crisp | Was $269.99, now $171.59 at Amazon
My tests of the Instant Pot Pro Crisp discovered an exceptional air frying function. Its deep basket meant I could air fry an entire chicken, and with 14 different functions and a saving of nearly $100, it offers a lot of appliance at a low price.
Ninja Foodi 8 Quart 6-in-1 DualZone XL Air Fryer | Was $249.99, now $193.00 at Amazon
Our pick for the fastest air fryer around, this two drawer marvel was cheaper on Black Friday, but still worth it for a quick air fryer that can cook two different meals at the same time.
Phillips Essentials XL | Was $199.95, now $171.48 on Amazon
When we tested this, we loved it for so many reasons. It's the easiest model to use thanks to its simple cooking modes. The only thing we could fault was the price, but with 15% off, it's a bargain.
Our Philips Essential Air Fryer XL review has more information.
Stand mixer deals
KitchenAid Classic 5 Qt. Stand Mixer KSM150PS | Was $329.99, now $239.99 at Amazon
If an Artisan is still beyond your budget, I recommend the KitchenAid classic. It's less powerful and only comes in two colors, but it's otherwise identical to an Artisan.
Hamilton Beach Electric Stand Mixer, 4 Quarts| Was $109.99 now $71.82 at Amazon
The Hamilton Beach Electric Stand Mixer is an affordable option for those looking for a decent mixer on a budget. It claims to offer the same mixing action as KitchenAid, though has slightly less power at just 300 watts. Reviewers are concerned with longevity as to how long the product may last, but it seems to get through the required basics. Helpful markings on the side give advice as to what speed setting to use based on what you're making.
Vitamix Explorian Blender | Was $372.90, now $275.45 on Amazon
You can save $100 on this high-powered mixer. The Explorian Blender comes with 10 speed settings, so you can blend everything from smooth purées to chunky dips. Both the container and the lid are dishwasher-safe for quick and easy cleaning.
Best coffee maker deals
Philips 3200 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine with LatteGo | Was $999.99, now $753.34 at Amazon
This is one of our favorite coffee makers, as it's a relatively affordable bean-to-cup machine. Add in your favorite beans and it will make you a perfect latte at the touch of a button.
Café Affetto Automatic Espresso Machine| Was $629, now $429 at Amazon
With a sleek appearance and a mighty 20-pump bar system, the Café Affetto is far from your average espresso machine. Our expert tester gave it five stars. It's available in a couple of different colorways, and you'll save even more money if you buy it in matte black, though it was cheaper on Black Friday.
Nespresso Vertuo Next Deluxe Coffee and Espresso Machine by De'Longhi | Was $209, now $125.47 at Amazon
The Nespresso Vertuo may be small, but it can still produce a mighty cup of coffee. One of our favorite single-serve coffee makers, this machine is easy to use and it's made with recycled plastic.
Nespresso Vertuo Next with Aeroccino Milk Frother | Was $229.99, now $172.46 at Amazon
This is exact same model as a standard Vertuo, but you get a bundle deal with an Aeroccino Milk Frother thrown in. The effective frother makes it easy to make lattes and cappuccinos at home - and it's great with alternative oat and coconut milks, too.
De'Longhi Dinamica Plus | Was $1,649, now $1,299.95 at Amazon
This is still very expensive, but this deal will save you hundreds of dollars. Our coffee expert loves it. IT's easy to use and makes truly perfect coffee at home.
You can read more in our full De'Longhi Dinamica Plus review.
Bodum Chambord French Press, 51 Ounce| Was $66, now $33.49 at Amazon
The Bodum Chambord is one of the most iconic French Presses out there. The timeless design uses a glass carafe that sits snugly in a stainless steel frame, making it less likely to break than most glass counterparts, and undoubtedly produces an unrivalled cup of coffee.
Café Appliances 10 Cup | Was $299, now $199.37 at Amazon
This smart drip coffee maker is an elegant addition to all kitchens. It offers excellent temperature control and has a WiFi enabled voice control setting, now for $100 off. However, you'll have to move fast. Stock is already very low.
Cuisinart RMC-100 EvolutionX Cordless Mini Chopper | Was $79.95, now $51.00 at Amazon
Cordless and rechargeable, this mini chopper is ideal for a modern kitchen. Allowing you to quickly chop herbs, nuts and small vegetables, this compact design can chop or grind at the swift touch of a button.
Juicer deals
Nutribullet Slow Juicer | Was $199.99, now $142.49 at Amazon
This slow juicer is hundreds cheaper than more premium models. It's not as good, but if you want quality juice without breaking the bank, this is your best option.
Ninja JC101 Cold Press Pro | Was $149.99, now $79.95 at Amazon
If money is particularly tight, this is a good juicer for the price. It's not listed as a deal, but this juicer is now discontinued, and this is the cheapest it's ever been.
Breville 3X Bluicer | was $399.95, now $213.90 at Amazon
If you want a blender and a juicer in one product, this is the perfect option. It was a lot cheaper on Black Friday, but I predict you won't see it this cheap in the New Year.
Vacuum deals
Dyson V15 | Was $749.99, now $649 at Amazon
This is the best vacuum that we've tested. The green laser highlights dust that the naked eye can't see and it will give you numerical data on how well you've vacuumed. It was a better deal a couple days ago but still worth considering.
Dyson Outsize + | Was $949.99, now $564.99 at Amazon
This powerful cordless is merciless on pet hair and has a much bigger brushhead and capacity than other vacuums. Our biggest complaint with Dyson is the price, so any discount is worth buying, and cheaper than Black Friday.
BISSELL ICONpet Cordless Vacuum |Was $365.64, now $261.06 at Amazon
While we have a few quibbles with this vacuum, $261 is one of the lowest prices I've seen it sold for this year. It's worth considering if you want something that does the job for less.
Bedding and textile deals
Three Geese Pinch Pleat Comforter | Was $159, now $129.00 on Amazon
This super-soft comforter now costs 35% less than its RRP. No cold spots here: there's a thin strip of fabric sewn between the top two layers, which evenly distributes the down. This cozy comforter will keep you warm on winter nights. However, it's been a lot cheaper before.
Since each piece is hypoallergenic, this set is perfect for sensitive sleepers.
Utopia Bedding Comforter | Was $49.99, now $33.59 on Amazon
This comforter is filled with down alternative, which prevents the buildup of mold and mildew in your mattress. It's also a great alternative for vegans.
Amazon New Year sales FAQs
When are the Amazon New Year sales?
Unfortunately, there's no official dates. Retailers all tend to drop their prices but not as part of a dedicated sales event. Prices tend to revert to MSRP in the first two weeks of January.
What are the best deals in the Amazon New Year sales?
I think the vacuum deals are your best option, as many of them are cheaper than they were for Black Friday. On the other hand, the New Year coffee maker deals are worst, because a lot of our favorites are no longer on sale.
