Everybody wants to have a special spin on their coffee station's aesthetics. Whether you opt for an iconic brand or a stand-out coffee maker, how it looks is just as important as how delicious your coffee tastes. That's why the Nespresso X Pantone collaboration is so exciting, for both coffee enthusiasts and interior stylists alike.

Inspired by the sparkling seas and sun-ripened fruits of the Mediterranean, Pantone has created six, special colorways for Nespresso to use on some of their best single-serve coffee makers, travel mugs, and coffee capsules too.

I've got all the details on what to shop and where to buy it, but, be quick. Some of the pieces have already sold out. This collection will go down in history as some of the best Nespresso machines, but it isn't going to be around forever.

What is the collaboration?

This summer, Nespresso have teamed up with the American color icons, the Pantone Color Institute. They wanted to cultivate the 'essence of a Meditteranean summer,' says Kim Sterling, Head of Strategic Marketing and Partnerships, 'these designs echo the glamorous spirit of the seventies era, encapsulating both nostalgia and contemporary elegance. It's more than just a collaboration; it's a sensory journey.'

Kim says each color has been carefully selected to evoke different aspects of the Meditteranean Riviera. These are the six hues on offer and the thought process behind them:

  • Mandarin Orange: this is at the core of the collection and is described by Pantone as 'gregarious and fun-loving, luminous and hot.' It's all about summer fun and adventures.
  • Habanero Gold: unsurprisingly, this is all about sunshine and happiness. It's based on evoking that warm, contented feeling that you get when you're in a sunny spot with a cup of coffee in your hand.
  • Muskmelon: it's not the Mediterranean without some juicy, sun-kissed fruits. This lively, sweet, natural color reflects the plump, fresh foods that taste extra special on holiday.
  • Aquarelle: if you've ever imagined diving into the cool, refreshing Mediterranean sea, you'll have pictured this tone. It's the stuff we all long for.
  • Tofu: picture sandy beaches and chalky rocks at the seaside and you'll see tofu. It's a wonderfully warm neutral, perfect for any kitchen.
  • Blue Lolite: when the sun sets and the heat of the day softens, the sea goes this deeper shade of blue. Pantone wanted to represent the cool night sky, as seen through reflections on the sea.

This is a fast-selling, limited edition collection, so there's a select few pieces from the collaboration available at Nespresso. The table coasters and tumbler mugs have already sold out, but, don't worry, there's plenty more where that came from:

Alongside the products, you might be able to spot some other changes with the Nespresso X Pantone collaboration. Nespresso has announced that 'our boutiques worldwide will undergo a vibrant transformation, dressed in the hues of the summer palette curated by the Pantone Color Institute. From the moment customers step in front of the boutiques, they will be immersed in the spirit of the Mediterranean Riviera, surrounded by colors that evoke the warmth and vibrancy of summer.'

If you want to guarantee to come face-to-face with the collaboration, Nespresso will be transforming its Nespresso Plage into a 70s-style beach club at the Cannes Film Festival. It's set to be something seriously special.
