American gymnast Simone Biles may have made history this weekend by winning her fourth gold medal at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, but experts are also praising her choices when it comes to home design.
Standing in front of her Texas home, the esteemed gymnast gives us a glimpse of the modern build, the exterior of which is adorned in bright white paint. While this may at first glance be regarded as somewhat of a safe option when it comes to exterior colors, experts say it not only boasts aesthetic appeal but also maximizes space and can even uplift a home's market value.

'The best thing about a white-colored house is that it adds a touch of charm and elegance to any home,' says real estate agent Adam Chahl. 'There's just something about the crispness of white that can make a house stand out. This classic combination has been popular for decades and continues to be a favorite among homeowners.'
In addition to its elegant look, Chahl suggests white is the perfect hue to promote the look of a larger space, explaining: 'One of the main advantages is that it can make a small house appear larger and more inviting. The bright white color reflects light, creating the illusion of more space.'
Adam Chahl is an award-winning real estate agent and has been empowering people to purchase real estate for many years. Adam has sought out, secured financing, and project managed successful and profitable build projects in the UK, the Caribbean, and here in Beautiful British Columbia.
Another advantage to embracing a white-colored home is its versatility when it comes to styling other elements of the exterior, as Chahl suggests: 'It can serve as a blank canvas for any seasonal decor or themed decorations. From wreaths and garlands to colorful planters and outdoor furniture, a white palette can easily transform with the seasons or personal style preferences.'
Perhaps most surprisingly, however, is the ability to increase a home's value by adopting a white-painted exterior. According to Chahl, 'a white home can certainly add curb appeal and increase the overall marketability of a home. It gives the impression that the house is well-maintained and cared for, which can be attractive to potential buyers.'
If this is a look you're considering for your own home, Chahl's advice is to 'look for a professional to help you design your home, and choose the right paint that will withstand weather elements and regular wear and tear. Make sure to keep it clean and well-maintained to maintain its appeal.'
