Memorial Day might have been and gone, but some of the best deals are still live. I'm seeing extended access to Memorial Day deals across Amazon, Target, and Walmart, among other home retailers and specialist stores.

As the longest-serving eCommerce Editor at Homes & Gardens, I've covered Memorial Day sales for years. I know where to shop, what to buy, and how to save to make the most of everything Memorial Day has to offer. To save you time and money, we're tracking all the best Memorial Day furniture sales live.

So far, I'm most excited by the outdoor furniture deals. Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer, which explains why we're seeing early discounts on everything from pizza ovens to patio furniture. As President Trump's tariffs start to take effect, this could be your last chance to bag bargains on foreign furniture and decor before prices increase, and it's a great opportunity to buy American-made.

FAQs

When is Memorial Day 2025?

This year, Memorial Day fell on Monday, May 26, but some of the best deals are still live.

Judging by previous years, I'd expect early access to open up at the start of the month, and for sales to be extended into the first week of June. That gives you plenty of time to shop the sales for summer essentials.

When do Memorial Day sales start?

The exact start date of Memorial Day sales depends on the retailer and the product category. Mattress sales are often the first to start, with up to and including 60% off at Nectar, DreamCloud, and Brooklyn Bedding.

Major appliances are next: you'll see deep discounts on white goods at Best Buy, Lowe's, Home Depot, and more.

Most of the big online retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, and Target, will wait until the week before Memorial Day to launch their official sales en masse, but you'll start seeing discounts from the start of the month.

What Memorial Day deals can we expect?

Memorial Day is the best time to buy anything for the outdoors before the start of summer: I'm talking lawnmowers, gardening tools, plus the best outdoor furniture and cooking equipment.

Beyond that, you'll see deals across all the usual product categories, ranging from furniture and decor to mattresses and home tech.

If you're hosting this summer, and you want to get a head start on sprucing up your outdoor space, you should browse the best patio furniture deals.
