What to Shop – A Few of Our Favorite Things
Ceramic coated, easy to use, and no fuss. This is the best non-toxic air fryer our expert tester, Lydia, has ever tested – and the lowest price I've seen all year. If you've been thinking about upgrading your current model or investing in an air fryer for the first time, it doesn't get better than this.
There is 64% off this Japanese knife set. Our Kitchen Appliances Editor, Lydia uses Global knives at home, and it is the first brand she looks for in the sales. They feel perfectly balanced, stay sharp thanks to the high-carbon stainless steel, and the dimpled handles give me a secure, comfortable grip.
If you're in the market for your first-ever coffee maker, and are looking for a small design perfect for one person, it doesn't get better than the Keurig K-Mini Mate. Available in a wide range of colors, this contemporary, compact one-cup coffee maker brews the perfect tasting cup.
This Shark cordless vacuum is one of the best cordless vacuums our expert reviewers have ever tested. It performs excellently across all surfaces, can detect the dirt and floor type for optimal suction, and has a flexible wand for reaching under furniture without straining your back.
You can find our more information in our Shark Cordless PowerDetect review.
With the Ninja Creami, you can create frozen treats like ice cream, sorbets, and milkshakes at the touch of a button. On test, we loved how easy it is to make delicious creations while being safe to clean in the dishwasher.

This beautiful pan (yes, beautiful) is non-toxic, has next-to-no sticking, and is dishwasher safe. Polished and professional, it's a long-lasting addition to your kitchen.
You can find more information on our Our Place Titanium Always Pan Pro review.
The NutriBullet Original is the blender that started it all. It's simple, but perfect for whizzing up your morning smoothie. It does a decent job of dips too, but don't use it for ice or hot ingredients.

This is the vacuum that our vacuum expert, Dan, uses in their own home (it's one of the best vacuums they've ever tested). Even though the V15 Detect and the Gen5detect in the same range offer slightly more power, the V12 has all the same features – and is much more affordable.
You can find more information in our Dyson V12 Detect Slim review.
Voted one of our best video doorbells by our expert tester, this design has some of the top features on offer, including a clear picture day and night, two-way audio that's free of echoes and background noise, and instant notifications to the live feed.
You can find out more information in our Ring Battery Doorbell Plus review.
We've just spotted some of Brooklinen's best-selling bedding on offer. The Luxe Core Sheet Set sits at the top of our 'best bed sheets' buying guide for its breathability and durability. Treat yourself to the silky smooth feel of cotton sateen, ideal for anyone with sensitive skin.
Part of IKEA's bestselling GULLABERG series, this versatile dresser is utterly timeless, featuring a robust and enduring design with well-crafted details, perfect if you're looking to refresh your bedroom furniture in the new year.
As part of Wayfair's massive Black Friday sale, there's a big discount on this chic armchair from Martha Stewart's collection. Featuring a truly timeless design, we love the cozy, inviting silhouette.
Our Celebrity Style team raves about Drew Barrymore's collection at Walmart. It's chic, good quality, and well-priced. This couch has a great discount and you get so much couch for your $.
How to Shop the December Sales
As shopping writers, we love a good bargain, but we'll never compromise quality for cost. Here are our expert do's and don'ts for shopping the New Year's sales.
Do Your Research
Before you start to shop, stop and take stock of what you already have. I suggest make an inventory of items and appliances you already own: it's a good way to work out which pieces you actually use and which languish in the bottoms of drawers or at the back of the closet. As you make your list (and check it twice), you'll start to see gaps: these are the items and appliances you want, and might actually need.
If you're hoping for a deep discount from a particular store, then I suggest you sign up for their newsletter. As and when deals drop, you'll be the first to know.
Don’t Scroll Mindlessly
Use the 'sort' and 'filter' functions to narrow the search to products and brands you're actually interested in. I like to sort by some variant on 'best-rated' or 'best-selling', so you see the products with the best reviews.
Do Use Price-Tracking Tools
My personal favorite is Honey. In the run up to the New Year's sales, you can make a wish list of products from participating stores. Honey will send you an alert as and when deals and drop on your favorite products. You could save the same item across multiple stores and Honey will tell you where to shop to save the most money.
Don’t Shop Just for the Sake of It
It can be hard to tell the difference between a good deal and a low price on a poor product. Ask yourself whether you'd still buy this product at full price. Remember that the best deals apply to the items and appliances you'll use most often or that would spark the most joy in your home.
How We Source Deals
To compile this Christmas sales page, I've consulted my team of eCommerce Editors. Each has our own specialism: Lydia covers kitchens; Dan does home tech; Charlotte covers all things chic decor and furniture, and Ottilie has the authority on mattresses and bedding. Together, we've got years of experience covering sale events. These are the best deals we've seen so far. We'll be sure to keep the page updated well after Christmas as more deals drop.
Some of these products are tried and tested by a member of our expert team. Where relevant, I've included links to our full-length review to help you see past the price tag and learn more about a particular product. Where we haven't been able to get our hands on a product, we've scoured the specifications and read countless customer reviews to give you an accurate indication of how it works and who it suits.
FAQs
What Are After-Christmas Sales?
It's a sales period that runs from the last week of December into the first few weeks of January. You can grab discounts on a range of homeware and appliances that will save you money as you start the New Year.
Retailers buy in lots of extra stock in the build up to Christmas. This is so they don’t sell out of gifts in the busy holiday period. The day after Christmas, however, demand drops, and they’re left with a heap of unsold merchandise that costs a lot to store. Retailers therefore drop their prices, shifting units for cheap to try to reduce their overheads while still making a profit. This means it’s a great time to shop, because prices are lower than usual, saving you money.
Are the January Sales as Good as Black Friday?
There’s much less fanfare than Black Friday, but sales can be just as good, if not better. It depends on what you’re buying and where.
Remember, now is a great time to shop seasonal decor and furniture off-peak. You could score a deep discount on outdoor furniture or the latest grill to set you up for next summer.
