Amazon's Black Friday deals are arriving a week early.

Amazon shocked deals writers this week by announcing that its Black Friday deals are starting a week earlier than usual. This year, Amazon's Black Friday deals are starting on November 17th.

I've covered Black Friday for years, and year by year the deals have started earlier and earlier. Lots of other retailers have already dropped their deals, and November is increasingly an entire month of deals.

That means there's already lots on sale on Amazon to consider before this Friday. What's more, there's also invite-only deals to consider. However, Amazon is far from the only game in town this Black Friday, and you may be better off shopping elsewhere.

When are Amazon's Black Friday deals?

In a press release, Amazon announced that its Black Friday deals are running 'From November 17 through November 27', so you have ten days to find a good deal. That's a big change from last year, where we saw deals throughout the month, but the official sale date was just 48 hours.

That's good news for shoppers, because it takes some of the stress out of finding deals in a relatively short sales window. However, that means there could be run on stock, because if that air fryer you're desperate to nab on markdown is on markdown for ten days, it could go pretty fast.

It also means ten days of pretty rapid change. Amazon says that 'new deals will drop as often as every five minutes' over the sales period, so what's on sale this Friday may not be on sale on the official Black Friday.

What's on sale in Amazon Black Friday deals?

There will be literally hundreds of thousands of deals. For example, Amazon say there will be up to $400 off De'longhi coffee machines. Our resident barista Laura is a big fan of these machines, so it's a saving worth having, but these machines can start at $700, so will still be pretty expensive. I'm more interested in up to '44% off select Ninja kitchen appliances', as these often top our buying guides. I'm also excited to see up to 37% off select KitchenAid mixers, because KitchenAid rightly dominate our guide to the best stand mixers.

What's already on sale?

However, Amazon have already been rolling out some early Black Friday deals, and some of our favorites have been on markdown. I've caught some products at prices we haven't seen since the summer Prime Day event, and some for the cheapest price they've been all year.

Hoover ONEPWR Pet Max | Was $309.99, now $99.99 at Amazon
Best vacuum deal

Hoover ONEPWR Pet Max | Was $309.99, now $99.99 at Amazon
If you need a vacuum, buy this right now. This cordless keeps on going on sale for key sales dates and it's almost the lowest it's ever been. I actually use one of these in my place. It is definitely not the best vacuum in the world; if you hate picking hair out of a brush roll, I'd steer clear. However, if you need a vacuum that does the job, this is the one, but this deal won't last, so I'd buy it ASAP.

Cuisinart Precision Stand Mixer, 500W, Black, SM50BU | Was $210.58

Cuisinart Precision Stand Mixer, 500W, Black, SM50BU | Was $210.58, now $199.99 at Amazon
If you want a stand mixer on a budget, we've long argued that the Cuisinart Precision is almost as good as the iconic KitchenAid Artisan. We found it's actually better for bread doughs. It's usually hundreds of dollars less than the Artisan, and this deal makes it an unbelievable bargain.

KitchenAid Classic 5 Qt. Stand Mixer KSM150PS | Was $329.99, now $269.72 at Amazon

KitchenAid Classic 5 Qt. Stand Mixer KSM150PS | Was $329.99, now $269.72 at Amazon
The KitchenAid Classic is the predecessor to the KitchenAid Artisan, and a smart choice if you want that classic KitchenAid design without the price tag. The Classic is smaller, less powerful, and comes in fewer colors. In short, it's not as good, but it looks identical. It's rare to see a KitchenAid under $300, so it's well worth considering.

NutriBullet NBP50100 7-Cup Food Processor | Was $119.99, now $79.99 at Amazon

NutriBullet NBP50100 7-Cup Food Processor | Was $119.99, now $79.99 at Amazon
A versatile addition to your kitchen, the NutriBullet NBP50100 7-Cup Food Processor is our best food processor for attachments. This model comes with blade and disc attachments for chopping, slicing, shredding, spiralizing and kneading dough. There are better processors out there, but not at this price.

NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender | Was $139.99, now $83.99 on Amazon

NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender | Was $139.99, now $83.99 on Amazon
I have a real soft spot for this budget-friendly NutriBullet model. It has it's quirks, including a powerful exhaust that will probably blow your kids' art off the fridge. However, for something so inexpensive, it does a pretty great job.

Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-IQ | Was $219.99, now $179 at Amazon

Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-IQ | Was $219.99, now $179 at Amazon
This blender is unbelievably good value: an enormous 72 oz. pitcher combines with a 64 oz. food processor bowl for two functions in one appliance. It also has two 24 oz. blending cups for single-serve drinks to take away. It can easily crush ice and it blends delicious smoothies.

Ninja AF101 Air Fryer | Was $129.99, now $75.14 at Amazon

Ninja AF101 Air Fryer | Was $129.99, now $75.14 at Amazon
This compact little air fryer is incredibly fast and excels at cooking at high temperatures. On test, we thought it did a particularly good job at cooking fried food.

BISSELL ICONpet Cordless Vacuum |Was $365.64, now $225.64 at Amazon

BISSELL ICONpet Cordless Vacuum |Was $365.64, now $225.64 at Amazon
While we have a few quibbles with this vacuum, $225 is the lowest price I've ever seen this vacuum. It's worth considering if you want something that does the job for less.

Are there better deals away from Amazon?

There are lots of better deals at sites other than Amazon. This month, I've been most impressed with Walmart, where deals started on have consistently had lower prices than Amazon for lots of products. Target have up to 40% off Shark, Ninja, and Keurig. Nordstrom's official deals won't drop until Black Friday itself, but the Fall Sale has up to 60% off Le Cruset, Jo Malone and Staub. If that's not enough, Best Buy and Wayfair have huge discounts on large appliances, which you can't really buy at Amzon.

Beautiful 6 Quart Touchscreen Air Fryer| Was $90, now $69 at Walmart

Beautiful 6 Quart Touchscreen Air Fryer| Was $90, now $69 at Walmart
Drew Barrymore's stylish Beautiful Touchscreen Air Fryer delivers good looks, low prices, and delicious air-fried food. We had low expectations when we put it to the test but it's actually exceptionally good for the price. You'll struggle to find something better for under $70.

Dyson V8 | Was $419.99, now $249.99 at Walmart
Cheapest Dyson

Dyson V8 | Was $419.99, now $249.99 at Walmart
Dyson's oldest vacuum, the V8 still packs a punch. It certainly has its flaws; the runtime is poor generally and very short on max. However, it still does a better job of picking up dirt than most vacuums out there. If you want a Dyson on a budget, this is the best option.

KitchenAid Artisan 5 Quart | Was $459.99, now $399.99 at Walmart
Best stand mixer

KitchenAid Artisan 5 Quart | Was $459.99, now $399.99 at Walmart
To be honest, this was a much better deal last week, but  this is still a great price for a mixer that's rarely on sale. Test after test has shown us that this is the bed stand mixer in the world, so it's well worth the investment.

Gourmia Digital Air Fryer | Was $79, now $35 at Walmart

Gourmia Digital Air Fryer | Was $79, now $35 at Walmart
If you're shopping for your first air fryer, you can't go far wrong with a Gourmia. Designed for first-time fryers, this machine comes with guided cooking prompts and 12 pre-saved settings. There's even a dehydration station, so you can make dried fruit or beef jerky.

FAQ

When is Black Friday?

Black Friday deals occur throughout November, but this year the day itself falls on Friday 24 November, followed by Cyber Monday on the 27th. After that, your next opportunity to grab a discount are the after-Christmas sales.

Do I need a Prime account for Amazon Black Friday deals?

No. Unlike Amazon Prime Day, you don't need a Prime account. However, there will be Prime-exclusive deals over the sales period, so if you want to make the most of the sales it could be worth getting a Prime account.
