When it comes to speed, convenience and versatility, you can't go wrong with a cordless vacuum cleaner

Vacuuming the house is a tedious task at the best of times. But with the right tools, this chore can become a lot more manageable.

I've tried many of the best vacuum cleaners over the years, and after tripping over power cords and lugging a heavy machine up the stairs, I’ve found that cordless models are much better suited to my household needs.

Not only do they look a lot sleeker than most traditional models, but cordless vacuum cleaners, like the LG CordZero™ series, come with a range of helpful functions and are easy to maneuver around your home.

Reasons why I prefer a cordless vacuum

With so many advantages, it’s no wonder cordless vacuums have become my go-to cleaning tool. Below, I’ll share the top five reasons why I've chosen to ditch the power cord and why a cordless model might be the perfect choice for you, too.

Cord Free Convenience

The biggest advantage of a cordless vacuum is, without a doubt, the sheer convenience it offers. Without the hassle of plugging and unplugging a cord, I can move freely from room to room, never having to pause my cleaning session. This is particularly handy, considering I live in a period property with limited power outlets and a rather unusual layout.

I also appreciate the freedom to move around without being tethered to a socket. It means I can reach far corners and high shelves without bending over backward. Cordless models, like the LG CordZero™ A937KGMS, are also perfect for homes with stairs, as you can easily carry them up and down without tripping over a cord in the process.

Moreover, their lightweight design makes them incredibly portable, reducing strain on my back and arms. Whether I'm vacuuming the stairs, cleaning the car, or moving between floors, the ease of handling is unmatched by traditional machines.

Accessibility and storage

I love how accessible and easy to store my cordless vacuum is. Its compact design means I can tuck it neatly into closets or small storage spaces, freeing up valuable room and eliminating the need for bulky utility room storage.

Without a cord, it's so much easier to grab and my vacuum and tackle unexpected messes. Whether it's crumbs on the kitchen floor or pet hair on the couch, my cordless vacuum makes the clean-up process fast and hassle-free.

One of my favorite features of the LG CordZero™ A937KGMS is its ability to transform into a handheld device, offering the same benefits as the best handheld vacuums without the need to buy more than one product.

Power and Longevity

In previous years, cordless vacuums earned a bit of bad rep for poor performance and battery life. However, when it comes to power and longevity, the latest and greatest cordless tech rarely disappoints.

For instance, models in the LG CordZero™ series offer some impressive battery life. The LG CordZero™ A949KTMS boasts two upgraded batteries, allowing you to charge one while using the other and providing up to 200 minutes of uninterupted cleaning time. Thanks to this enhanced battery life, I can tackle my entire home in one go without worrying about running out of power midway through a cleaning session.

Despite being cordless, these models also deliver some powerful suction, competing head-to-head with other top brands like Dyson and Shark. It’s reassuring to know that I don’t have to sacrifice performance for convenience.

Smart Features

What really sets modern cordless vacuums apart is how they have embraced smart technology. For example, connecting my machine to a smart app allows me to monitor battery life, receive maintenance alerts, and track cleaning history right from my phone. It’s incredibly convenient to have all this information at my fingertips.

What's more, some models even feature self-emptying docks, meaning I don’t have to worry about emptying the dustbin as frequently. This smart tech not only enhances the performance of my vacuum but also takes a lot of the stress out of the cleaning process.

Aesthetics

Although it's not a reason to rush out and buy one, another thing I genuinely appreciate about cordless vacuums is their modern design. Unlike cumbersome traditional vacuum cleaners, these models are designed to look sleek and contemporary.

Many of the best cordless vacuums feature charging docks or, in the case of the LG Cordzero™ series, an All-in-One Tower™ that self-empties the dust bin when the device is docked. These units tend to have clean, modern designs that complement most home decor. Thoughtful touches such as this make me more likely to keep my cordless vacuum outside of the cupboard rather than stowed away with my other essential cleaning tools.

Finding the right cordless vacuum should help make cleaning your home far less of a chore. But if you really want to take the stress out of vacuuming, consider buying a self-emptying vacuum cleaner.
