'We’ve continued to see increasing popularity in the use of darker, deeper shades,' Elizabeth Sherwin, creative director at Naked Kitchens observes.
'Aubergine is a rich sultry color which is surprisingly versatile and works wonderfully in any kitchen. It’s both high in the glamour stakes, oozing drama and sophistication, as well as creating a warm and inviting space,' Sherwin explains.

Interior designer Kathy Kuo also notes the eggplant-inspired color as a strong contender for fall decor ideas, explaining: 'Aubergine is such a natural fit for fall decor in the kitchen, so it’s no surprise that Aubergine Autumn is painting kitchens everywhere in beautiful deep purple hues this season.'
'Aubergine is both sophisticated and earthy, which makes it a really love color for an upscale kitchen and it’s a gorgeous compliment to the warm tones that many people typically associate with fall, like sienna, goldenrod, and rust,' Kuo adds.

Amy Wilson also suggests pairing aubergine tones with natural textures: 'This trend would complement your home perfectly if it features a lot of wood throughout your floors and furniture. Use these colors to accessorize and flourish against the backdrop of your home. Why not opt for some deep purple lampshades and pink curtains to build on the sense of warmth.'
