Dyson's goods are among some of the most advanced appliances you can buy, but that doesn't change how out of reach their prices can be. That's why, as a seasoned shopping writer, I always recommend waiting until you find a good Dyson deal in the sales.

I'm Homes & Gardens' home tech editor, and I can confirm the best Dyson vacuums are worth the spend. We've tested 16 appliances from Dyson's line-up at home and in our test center, so we know their products inside out. I've even visited their engineering labs in Malmesbury, UK to get a closer look at their engineering.

And after the 200+ hours I've spent testing vacuums, it's only the Dysons that I use in my own home. Below I've handpicked the best deals live in June 2025, collated links to every site where you can find Dyson sales, and shared tips on how to maximize savings like a pro.

Our favorite Dyson products

Whenever the sales come around, these are the Dyson products I look out for. They've excelled in our tests and provide some of the most useful features in the market. But because of their retail price, I always recommend waiting until they're on offer to buy one (luckily, they often are).

Dyson deal tips and tricks

I've covered every major sale event since 2021, and in that time I've learned how to find the best deals out there, and how to spot when they're genuinely a good deal.

There are seasonal sales, such as in spring. During big sale events like Black Friday (typically end of Nov) and Prime Day (both in July and October), brands will show off as many discounts as possible while competing to offer the lowest prices or the biggest reductions. That means, on occasion, they'll increase the price before the event so that it looks like a better offer on the day.

To find out whether I'm really seeing a good deal, I use two sites: Honey and CamelCamelCamel.

Honey is a price comparison tool that you can install as an extension (but you don't have to). When viewing a product, it'll show its availability on other sites and you where you can get it cheapest. You're also able to view price history up to the previous 120 days, so you can see whether any sites have bumped the price up beforehand to exaggerate how good the discount is. If you're looking at a Dyson vacuum that's the cheapest it's been in the past 120 days, it's probably a good time to buy it.

CamelCamelCamel works similarly but exclusively for Amazon. You can enter any Amazon product by URL or product name, and it'll show you its price history since being added to Amazon. This is great for Dyson products as you can actually see whether it's the lowest price ever, and then you know you're getting the best deal yet (although, it's still worth using Honey to check it isn't cheaper elsewhere).

Top tip: Dyson are known for releasing different versions of each product (the V15 Detect Plus and the V15 Detect Absolute, for example), so when consulting Honey or Camel make sure you've checked each variation for the best price. Each variation comes with different attachments, so it's also a good idea to check you're getting one that's suited to your home.

And more generally, before heading into the big sales like Black Friday – it's smart to do your research first. Knowing what you want beforehand will save you from becoming blinded by the flashy deals on Dyson goods you might not need, and will help you grab what's right for you before it's sold out.

How to choose a Dyson vacuum

A general rule with Dyson vacuums is: the more expensive, the better it is. As Dyson's releases tend to be an upgrade to the previous, you can tell that the V15 Detect is better than the V12 Detect Slim, which is better than the V11, which is better than the V8, and so on.

The best Dyson vacuum of all is the Gen5detect (and the Gen5outsize, the larger version) and that's where you'll find the most advanced tech. It has the strongest suction power and smart features like particle sensors, dust and floor detection, and a green laser to illuminate invisible dust on the floor.

This detection technology senses what's on your floors and automatically adjusts the suction when more is needed (like when you get to a particularly dusty part of the floor or move onto carpet).

The Gen5detect is also the only vacuum that's compatible with Dyson CleanTrace – a smartphone software that shows you where you have and haven't vacuumed.

But the Gen5detect is wildly expensive. You can find the same smart features in the V15 Detect and the V12 Detect Slim, but they just offer slightly decreased suction power. All three vacuums share the same attachments too, with dedicated floorheads for carpets and hard floors.

On test, all three performed flawlessly with whatever mess we threw at them. Sure, the Gen5detect was the best, but when you consider that it costs $100s more just for a slight increase in power, it might be smarter to save your money and opt for the V15 Detect or V12 Detect Slim instead.

I use the V12 Detect Slim myself, and I never feel like any cleaning power is missing.

Then, the V11 is the next step down. It still has different suction modes like the above vacuums, but you have to manually select them yourself, as it doesn't have the automatic detection tech. If you're looking for a powerful cordless vacuum but don't need fancy features, I recommend saving your money and choosing the V11.

If you're on a budget, the V8 is what you need. It has suction power you can rely on in Dyson's classic, easy-to-use design.

Not looking for a cordless vacuum? The Ball Animal 3 is their best upright, the 360 Vis Nav is their best robot, and the Big Ball Turbine Head is their best canister. But really, their cordless vacuums are their best.

What is a good price for a Dyson?

It's hard to say what a 'good' price is for a Dyson as their vacuums range from $300 to $1,000. First, you need to figure out what model (or models) you're on the lookout for using the handy guide above, then comes the part of knowing if you've found a good price.

The best discounts I've ever seen on Dyson's bests were during Black Friday 2024, with $300 off both the V12 Detect Slim and V15 Detect. These are the lowest prices they've ever been, so if you can find something similar when you're shopping for deals, then you know you've found a gem.

But generally, anywhere from $150 to $250 is a decent reduction, and you should definitely consider buying if your vacuum of choice is discounted by that much.

If you're seeing a deal of just $100 off, this will usually be a common price. Often, retailers will include a mention of small discounts like $100 to appear like a saving, but really, that price will be available for most of the year. Use the tools Honey and CamelCamelCamel that I mentioned above to know whether yours is a genuine discount.

When's a good time to get a Dyson deal?

As somebody who writes almost-exclusively about vacuums, I can confirm that Dyson vacuums are discounted quite often. Whether it's a Spring sale or not, I'm regularly seeing some of their best models on offer, sometimes at some of their best prices yet. For this reason, I'd never recommend buying a Dyson at full price.

A benefit of having countless online stores is that they're often competing with each other for the lowest prices, and if you know how to look, you can find a good Dyson deal outside of the big sales. That being said, there's no denying what the major sale seasons can bring, especially in terms of choice.

Amazon Prime Day Dyson deals

If previous years are anything to go by, Prime Day is right around the corner, and it's a pretty reliable time to find a discounted Dyson product, whether you're looking for vacuums, purifiers or hair goods. Amazon has such a wide range of products that you'll typically find one of their bests on offer, and usually with a sizable discount.

If looking during Prime Day however, make sure to check elsewhere. Other retailers like Walmart and Target will launch competing sales, as well as Dyson themselves.

Don't forget: since 2022 there are now two Prime Days a year, one in July and one in October.

Labor Day Dyson deals

Around the Labor Day weekend in September, we see discounts from all the major retailers every year. Dyson launched a Labor Day sale in 2024 and it included some of our favorite vacuums. If you missed the first Prime Day and can't wait until the second, this is a great chance to grab a Dyson deal.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Dyson deals

It's the obvious time of year to invest in a new appliance as retailers and the brands themselves launch site-wide sales. What started as a single-day sale has now turn into an event that lasts for weeks, as we've seen this year with Dyson launching their own Black Friday sale almost a month before the day.

I've been covering deals and sale events for over three years now. While Black Friday and Cyber Monday typically has the biggest selection of offers, it's not necessarily where you'll find the biggest reductions in price. Other events like Amazon Prime Day and Labor Day have given us some pretty impressive discounts too, and even outside of sale periods they pop up at random times.

But more generally, the September to December period is a great time to keep a lookout. It's around this time that manufacturers and retailers tend to clear old stock to make room for new releases, so will be selling at reduced prices.

Boxing Day and New Year's Day Dyson deals

After Christmas is another great time to look out for a cheap Dyson. Just like we see during September to December, manufacturers and retailers will still be clearing old stock come January. So, lookout for any New Year's, after Christmas, or winter sales from Dyson or from any retailer that stocks their goods.

Dyson Spring sales

You can expect to see sales across major retailers as the weather starts to get warmer. The big push for spring cleaning is a great chance for brands to sell off their cleaning appliances, so keep a lookout for any discounts around this time.

Memorial Day Dyson deals

Every year, when Memorial Day comes round, brands and major retailers launch massive discounts on appliances. This year Memorial Day falls on May 26, and we're expecting to see great savings on Dyson goods, with a high chance of Dyson launching their own site-wide Memorial Day sale.
