For some of us, sleeping hot is a year-round struggle. Whether you live in a warm climate or go without AC, or you've entered that time of life where night sweats and hot flashes are a regular occurrence, you need to find breathable bedding to manage your symptoms.

As a hot sleeper, Cozy Earth is one of my go-to retailers. So far, I've sampled their Bamboo Comforter, slept on their Silk Pillow, and snuggled under their Cuddle Blanket, and I'm saving up to buy more. I turn to Cozy Earth for breathable, sustainable bedding, but even I can acknowledge that their stuff is expensive. That's why I'm pleased to report that Cozy Earth is running their Black Friday bedding sale, where you could save up to 35% site-wide.

As H&G's resident sleep writer, I work nights, testing some of the world's best bedding. A lot of it ends up stuffed in my linen closet for lack of space, but I keep my Cozy Earth bedding in regular rotation. When I'm not using it, my sister will sneak it out of the laundry and bring it up to her bedroom − she loves the light feel and luxe finish you get from Cozy Earth. That's why Cozy Earth is one of the best places to buy bedding − especially at a discount.

Cozy Earth bedding − tried and tested

The only downside of a site-wide sale is how easy it is to feel spoiled for choice. So, to save you time and money, I've hand-picked three of my favorite Cozy Earth products, currently listed for less in the Cozy Days sales. I've found the best duvet insert for hot sleepers and eco-conscious shoppers, a super-soft blanket that would make a great housewarming gift, and the best pillow for sleepers who like a little luxury. I actually use all of these products in my home, so I'm perfectly placed to give you all the pros and cons of Cozy Earth bedding.

Cozy Earth bedding is seriously expensive, but that's the price you pay for organic materials and sustainable manufacture. If you're buying on a budget, and this bedding feels out of reach, then I suggest you switch focus to shop the best places to buy affordable bedding. You'll find deep discounts on sheets, shams, quilts, comforters, and pillows from a range of specialist sleep stores, including Brooklinen, Casper, and Tempur-Pedic.

How we test bedding

Here at Homes & Gardens, we put a lot of thought into how we test bedding. Our expert testers sample bedding for months, ideally through several seasons, to monitor its performance over time, with a special focus on thermoregulation. In the case of Cozy Earth, I started sleeping on the Bamboo Comforter back in February; the Cuddle Blanket came through around the same time; and the Silk Pillow arrived in March. I keep my Cozy Earth bedding in regular rotation and pass it around my family members for quality control.

Since different bedding performs different functions, we score each item against different criteria. We assess comforters for (you guessed it) comfort; breathability; appearance; and sustainability. We assess pillows for comfort; breathability; and support for different sleep positions. With blankets, the testing process is more subjective: it's about the feel of the fibers between your fingers and the weight of the blanket on your body.

We like to compare our findings against verified customer reviews to show a range of perspectives on the same product. Finally, we bring it all back to the price of the bedding to help you determine value for money.
