If you have your eye on a luxury coffee maker, you'll want to search around for some sort of discount. If you're a patient, savvy shopper, you're likely to get lucky. There are relatively regular sales across different retailers if you know where to look.
As a former barista and H&G's coffee expert, I spend a lot of time drinking, thinking about, and reviewing coffee. I've tested over seventy of the best coffee makers in the last year and there are plenty that I made a note beside saying, 'I'd buy this if it was in a sale.' With that in mind, I keep a close eye on the prices of my favorite drip coffee makers around (they're just so useful to have in your home) as well as the Keurig deals and Nespresso deals, which are some of the most enticing discounts right now over on Amazon.
Whilst the next national sale won't be until Labor Day there are still some places that you can shop. If you want to know what's hot (apart from your cup of coffee), here's the place to look.
Where to shop coffee maker deals
If you've got some time and you want to scroll through coffee maker retailers for yourself, these are the places to start. It's where our experts look first when they're shopping for themselves.
- Amazon: shop a range of big-name brands with regular reductions
- Best Buy: shop Breville, De'Longhi, OXO and Nespresso
- QVC: a great place to shop French presses, pour-overs, bean-to-cup machines, and more
- Target: shop top coffee brands for less in their sales
- Walmart: if you're going to find a discount on Keurig, Ninja, or Cuisinart, it'll be here
- Wayfair: shop Keurig, Bunn, and Mr Coffee
Best drip coffee maker deals
Filter coffee is the nation's favorite brewing style, so it's important that the best drip coffee makers are the creme de la creme(a). We've tested all of these and think they're up to the standards of the best baristas' palettes.
Bean-to-cup coffee maker deals
The beauty of bean-to-cup machines, also known as automatic coffee makers, is that they make everything simple. All you need to do is add milk, water, and beans, and you'll have perfect coffee every time. However, the market average for these sits at around $1000, so it's always worth looking for a discount.
Single-serve coffee maker deals
If you can save on single-serve coffee makers, you're winning on all fronts. The capsule coffee machines below make speedy coffee and they're tested (and approved) by experts.

Espresso machine deals
If you can snag an espresso machine deal, you'll be the envy of all your coffee-enthusiast friends. These technical coffee makers are some of the most coveted around. They're only expensive if you don't shop in the sales.
Pour-over deals
Pure pour-over coffee is delicate and delicious. Most of these coffee makers are relatively inexpensive, so when there's a sale on, it would be rude not to cover them. However, right now, there aren't actually any deals worth shopping. We have high hopes for what might drop in the future, so stay tuned for more pour-over deals this month.
Best French press coffee maker deals
French presses might not be at the front of your mind when looking for coffee maker deals, but they should be. The best French presses I've tested sit comfortably in triple-figure prices. If you can snag one for under $100, don't hesitate to take the plunge (sorry).
Best moka pot deals
The best moka pots can take you close to espresso machine coffee flavors, for a fraction of the price. Bialetti tends to dominate the market here, so if you can pick up one of their iconic models, you can sip back and relax. Even at full price, these aren't expensive.
Best cold brew coffee maker deals
If you've been making your cold brew coffee in a plastic bottle or a simple French press, now is the time to complete your cold brew set-up. These cold brew systems are inexpensive, especially in the sales, and they'll change the way you enjoy your cold brew. There's no need to struggle with make-do brewers anymore.
How we test coffee makers
At Homes & Gardens, we take our coffee maker tests seriously. Before we feature them or recommend you buy them, each machine will have been tested by our experts and compared to models from top brands like Breville, Nespresso, and Technivorm.
Where possible, we test how a coffee machine fares on making espresso, Americano, and cappuccino. This lets us see the range that a coffee maker has, across milky coffee as well as more intense and flavorful shots. However, if a coffee maker claims to be able to make a vast menu of different coffees, we'll test them all and let you know about them in our 'special features' section. We make sure to use the same coffee beans in each test, so that we can compare how well the flavors and aromas of the coffee has been extracted. If a machine can froth milk, we will test non-dairy milks too, as these can be temperamental.
We'll make notes on everything from aesthetics to cleaning and maintenance, so that you can get a holistic idea of what these machines are like to live with before you invest in them. If you'd like to find out more, you can visit our dedicated page to learn how we test coffee makers.
FAQs
When's the next sale to shop coffee maker deals in?
The next nationwide sale will be on Labor Day. If you can't wait until September to bag a coffee saving, there will be other retailer sales over the summer. We'll update you on them when they're live, but they might not be as dramatic as Black Friday, Prime Day, and other big sales events.
How much should I pay for a coffee maker?
At full price, a decent coffee maker will cost you anything between $30 and $1,500. These won't be the same type though. Pour-overs and French presses tend to be below $100, whereas automatic coffee makers and espresso machines can easily be above $500 and much closer to $1,000. Whatever investment you make, you're buying a quality machine that's well-reviewed.
