The brand is well known for making unique and iconic kitchen appliances, from ice cream makers to air fryers, but their range of blenders is most impressive. On top of that, half the models seem to be called the 'Foodi'.

So, we've put all our expert knowledge in one place to help you choose the best Ninja blender for every kind of kitchen task. Whether you want a dedicated smoothie expert, a versatile soup maker, or the very best portable blender, you're in the right place.

What we like: This blender offers a whole world of possibilities. It's a family-sized, powerful, versatile blender, which has attachments for small and large blends, as well as the capability to turn into one of the best food processors we have tried.

This is taken a step further with the Auto-IQ technology built into the Ninja Professional Plus base, which is equipped with smart programs to take the work out of blending. These three programs allow you to make smoothies, frozen drinks, and blends from fruit and vegetables that are still nutrient-rich.

What we didn't like: The system includes quite a few components, which could clutter up your kitchen if storage space is tight. It’s also not the most budget-friendly option. However, the personal-sized cups are a real convenience for busy mornings when you need to grab and go.

Who would it suit? We'd recommend this to almost everyone, except those who are short on space or shopping on a budget.

What we like: If you need a budget-friendly blending star for your kitchen, then the Ninja Professional Plus has everything you need. With the capacity, simple presets, and intuitive controls, this ticks all the boxes when it comes to everyday use. The three Auto-IQ presets on this blender are extremely handy for home use – with smoothies, frozen drinks, and ice cream – creating a perfect mix of healthy options and blends to whip up treats.

What we didn't like:. If you’re looking for included cups that allow you to take smoothies on the go, then you might be a little disappointed, with this blender only having the pourable pitcher. The size is excellent for families or batch prep, but might feel excessive for single users or small households.

Who would it suit? This blender is ideal for families, home cooks, and anyone who wants a simple but effective, full-sized blender without paying premium prices.

Not the most powerful

What we liked: Svelte and smart, the Ninja Blast packs a punch; it's the very best portable blender that our experts have tested. It's slim enough to sit in any water bottle holder (both in backpacks and car cup holders), available in a range of fun colors, and has a useful flip-top lid that doesn't drip, dribble or leak. We were most excited by the ice-crushing capacity. This is the only portable blender that can make frozen margaritas or desserts on the go.

Our expert, Alex, trialed the Ninja Blast in the test kitchen in 2023 and has been using it ever since. He says, 'It's remained consistent and impressive. I regularly add a scoop of protein powder and creatine to my frozen smoothie mix, and the Ninja doesn't struggle to keep the mixture silky rather than lumpy. It has never leaked, and it's pretty easy to clean for everyday use.'

What we didn't like: Like most portable blenders, it struggles to process seeds. It's also not as good as a countertop blender for making dips; it made a serviceable hummus, but not a great one.

Who would it suit: Everyday smoothie drinkers who want a lightweight but powerful, portable blender that can handle anything from protein shakes to frappuccinos.

4. Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System

The most premium Ninja blender

Specifications

Capacity: 72 ounces
Dimensions: 8.7" x 8.3" x 16.14"
Power: 1,600 watts
Preset programs: 7

Reasons to buy

+
Sleek interface
+
Very powerful
+
Great for smoothies, extractions, bowls, spreads, chopping, food processing, and dough

Reasons to avoid

-
Lots of pieces to store
-
Very sharp blades

What we like: The Ninja Foodi Power Blender Ultimate System is one of the most versatile Ninja blenders we've tested. It comes fully loaded with settings for smoothie bowls, dips, chopping, food processing, and even dough. The technology is among the most advanced, delivering consistent, high-quality results across a wide range of tasks. Its chrome body looks sleek and premium, and the simplified interface is cleaner and more modern than many other models on this list. It's most similar to the Ninja Professional Kitchen System but has additional speed settings, more attachments for advanced food processing, and slightly more power.

What we didn't like: We would caution that the blades are very sharp, so you need to be careful when cleaning up. It also comes with a basket-load of attachments, so you need to clear cupboard space.

Who would it suit? This blender is best suited for serious home cooks, large households, and anyone who wants a true all-in-one kitchen system. If you’re looking to replace multiple appliances with one powerful, premium device – and don’t mind the extra storage requirements – the Foodi is an excellent choice.

5. Ninja Foodi Cold & Hot

The best Ninja blender for soup

Specifications

Capacity: 64 lbs
Dimensions: 7.86"D x 8.78"W x 17.91"H
Power: 4200 watts
Preset programs: 17

Reasons to buy

+
Heats soup and sauces
+
Extremely powerful motor
+
Versatile for frozen treats
+
Easy to use

Reasons to avoid

-
Quite tall

What we like: The best Ninja blenders we've tested can whip up a silky smoothie in seconds. The Ninja Foodi Cold & Hot goes one better. It can make hot soups, sautés, and sauces, as well as smoothies, desserts, and frozen drinks. If you're looking for a hard-working appliance, look no further.

Our experts put this to the test on butternut squash, ginger, spinach, and ice. These are some of the toughest ingredients, and the Ninja Cold & Hot blended them up into smooth bowls of hot and cold delights. The generous 64 oz jug can cater to at least four people, with enough for leftovers, too. It's also incredibly intuitive to navigate, so this is a tough model to fault.

What we didn't like: If we are being picky, this is tall, so won't clear wall-mounted cupboards. It's also tricky to clean, because it doesn't lift off the base.

Who would it suit? If you love making soup and sauces, and you're looking for a brilliant blender to save you time and hassle in the kitchen, this is the best Ninja blender for you.

6. Ninja Foodi Power Mixer System

The best Ninja hand blender

Power: 650 watts
Speed settings: 5

Reasons to buy

+
Lightweight
+
Comfortable grip
+
Easy to store
+
Ideal for soup, puree & baby food
+
Good value
+
Quiet

Reasons to avoid

-
Not super powerful
-
Messy for smoothies

What we like: The Ninja Foodi Power Mixer System is a versatile, space-saving combo that brings together a powerful hand blender and a 5-speed hand mixer into one sleek device. The 650-watt motor base delivers good power, making it easy to blend soups, mix purées, and whisk sauces directly in the pot. We like the 'QuickSwap' attachments, which allow you to switch between blending and mixing in seconds. We thought the grip was comfortable and the performance was quiet – a bonus if you like to blend at anti-social hours.

What we didn’t like: While compact and convenient, a hand blender will never really match the power of Ninja's best full-sized blenders. Also, blending smoothies in a jug can get a little messy if you're not careful.

Who would it suit? The Ninja Foodi Hand Blender is a good option for small kitchens or keen cooks. It's not ideal for smoothies, but it is useful for soups, sauces, baby food, whipped cream, or quick baking projects. At just over $100, it is good value for money, too.

Best Ninja blender alternatives

Ninja blenders are great and certainly at the top of their game; they make some of the best blenders on the market. However, there are plenty of other good blenders out there, some are even better than Ninja blenders for specific functions. Here's a selection of our favorites.

How we test blenders

We have a series of standard tests that we put the best Ninja blenders through: you can read more about how we test blenders here, and our review and testing guidelines provide more insight into our process.

How to choose the best Ninja blender

Hopefully, my guide has pointed you in the right direction, but if you want to know more, here are the top criteria to look out for when you are perusing the list of the best Ninja blenders.

Power: All blenders are capable of making smoothies with soft fruits. But if you want to make frozen desserts or nut butters, then you need a machine with a powerful motor. A simple smoothie will need at least 500-600 watts. With 700 watts, you'll be able to blitz seeds and frozen fruit. Once you hit numbers up to 1,200 watts, you'll be able to make almost anything, like snow cones and frozen cocktails.

Capacity: The standard size for a countertop blender is around 65 oz. If you have a big family and lots of mouths to feed, look for one that can reach up to 80 oz, but bear in mind that this will take up more space on your countertop. If you need single servings, a small, portable blender might suit you.

Programs: If you're new to blending or want a hands-off experience, look for a Ninja blender that has 'Auto-iQ' blending technology. Simply look for a blender that has pre-set programs for the recipes you want to make (ie, soups, ice cream, smoothies, desserts, or dips).

Features: Move up the price scale and you’ll find that you get additional features. Some of the most powerful blenders, for example, can use friction to heat raw ingredients, delivering hot soup in just a few minutes (like the Ninja Hot & Cold, for example). Some double up as juicers, food processors, ice cream makers, and more. Name a function, and there will be a Ninja blender that covers it. If you want something that can blend directly into a pot or pan, one of the best immersion blenders (like the Ninja Foodi Hand Mixer) will be more appropriate.

Accessories: Additional extras like self-serve cups let you take a drink on the move, and food processing attachments can be handy for chopping vegetables and prepping dinner.

Price: Ultimately, the best Ninja blender for you depends on striking the right balance between performance, features, and budget. You don’t necessarily need to go for the most expensive model to get great results. Entry-level Ninja blenders can still handle daily smoothies with ease. However, if you're looking for a machine that can multitask, last for years, and tackle tough ingredients, investing in a high-end model (like the Ninja Foodi Power Blender Bundle) will usually pay off.

FAQs

Does Ninja make the best blenders?

Ninja certainly makes some of the best blenders on the market. They have an array of different models, so you can pretty much pick and choose the one which has the features you want. Plus, Ninja blenders are fairly advanced when it comes to their designs. Most of them have multiple blades to cut through your ingredients quicker and more thoroughly than other blenders. Then, when you're finished blending, most of the components are dishwasher-safe, to make cleaning up as easy as possible.

What is the best of the best Ninja blenders?

Our best Ninja blender is the Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-IQ. Millie, our Reviews Editor, was most impressed with the food processor attachment in particular, though she thought the appliance itself was a bit bulky, so keep that in mind. 'It was speedy and chopped evenly using the double-layered blades. The various Auto-IQ settings are excellently timed with differing strengths and intermediate pulsing. This was particularly useful when blending a large smoothie or soup because it meant I could leave the setting to work unassisted while I went about making breakfast.'

Meanwhile, if you're looking for a product that strictly focuses on blending for smoothies, we also rate the Ninja Professional Plus Blender with Auto-IQ. It is amply sized, includes the smart Auto-IQ technology, and retails at a reasonable price of $119.99.

Which Ninja blender crushes ice?

We believe that any of these Ninja blenders will powerfully crush through ice, especially since that is one of the basic functions expected of a blender. In particular, models with higher power ratings will be able to crush ice effectively, so we'd look for models with power ratings of at least 1000W to turn ice into a dusting of snow.

The best way to tell that Ninja makes the best blenders is that all of our expert testers have invested in ones for their own personal use. Alex, our Head of eCommerce, uses the personal Ninja Blast; Millie uses the Professional Plus Kitchen System; and I've bought the Cold & Hot blender. If we're willing to spend on these products, after testing the best on the market, that's proof enough that these are excellent. The next task you'll have is finding the best Ninja deals on offer, so you can make a saving too. I've got you covered there, too.
